people crying about roger's loss of aura clearly have never watched an episode of city hunter. we're losing the recipes.
i hate the moria kozuki hate so much when it's such a nice wrinkle to the character.
when we meet moria he is a depressed man, a coward, a schemer, a guy that has been so traumatized by the death of his crew that he not only hides himself in the fog of the triangle, only surrounding himself with toys and zombies but he openly rejects the idea of a crew because all crews are destined to die. oz looks so much like kaido, i don't think it's a coincidence: every action moria undertake is driven by his defeat.
when he belittles luffy, saying he will be crushed by the new world it's clearly projection. BUT also he is right the strawhats weren't ready, and Sabaody is the next arc. luffy loses his crew too. luffy breaks down while being separated from his friends but moria saw his crew get butchered.
we also know that moria even though he is a terrible human being is clearly a caring person. he adopted perona, he goes to pirate island to face blackbeard to save absalom and is clearly distraught when he learns of his death. so moria wasn't simply disappointed by his loss, his ego wasn't simply crushed, he also lost friends.
SO NOW THE KOZUKI REVEAL ! moria was at Roger's execution he was part of the wave of pirates inspired by his speech, he was young and hungry. what we can guess now is that his encounter with kaido wasn't simply two pirates facing each other for the top of the food chain. he went there to save /his country. just like all those broken samurais we met in wano, moria got crushed by kaido trying to save it. HE LOST HIS CREW BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SAVE HIS COUNTRY. SO THAT MEANS IT'S HIS FAULT. can you imagine the guilt ? it wasn't to follow the dream birthed by roger's words but because they followed him to the land of his ancestors.
tldr: Moria is a great character, people can't read one piece anymore because of memes and power scaling.
the twist about that vault is so funny especially if you already played fallout.
reading james baldwin's biography by leeming. and this would have been baldwin's casting of david and giovanni.
Engin Cezzar (Giovanni) and Marlon Brando (David)
Found this gem in the comments.
So sick of Seth talking shit about Roman every week..like please stfu... you have had so many opportunities and still exist within your privilege by clearly being injured and not having your title stripped... true the Bloodline story has run its course but let's not act like once Roman is done that it won't be the same song of another white boy being the top guy...and it being probably decades before another man of color ever has this opportunity again
not me discovering today that Seth is white, always thought he was Mexican or Latino lol
it's so funny that after years of trying, it's the gifs and fancams of rhea ripley and roman reigns that are getting my friends to talk wrestling with me.

The Kanye stan's witty remark
damn the pedantic and mediocre criticism is almost making Kanye likeable again

Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!
Every piece of classic literature: Hi. It's me. The bland everyman whose only purpose is to tell you this story. I have no actual personality. Here's the story of the time I encountered the worst people I ever met in my life. But first, ten pages of description about the place in which I met them.
Modern writing advice: Yes your protagonist should have flaws but ultimately we should root for them and like them from the beginning :)
Charles Dickens: Here is the worst ugliest rudest meanest nastiest bitch you’ve ever met in your life.
Modern writing advice: Make sure your POV character goes through a significant arc! Make sure they are changed by the narrative! Make sure they learn a lesson!
Narrators of every book of the 19th century: the lesson I learned is these people fucking suck, sayonara you freaks
Modern writing advice: It’s all about the character overcoming obstacles and learning! They learn their lesson so they can fix their mistakes and make good choices in the future! It’s a character arc! It’s called growth! Readers love it!
