Treating your f/o gently and softly. Letting them feel how very loved they are. Letting your fingertips trail lightly along their skin. Giving them soft, gentle kisses, murmuring praise and pet names and reassurance. Holding them close and taking care of them like you’ve got all the time in the world, not rushing your adoration of them because you don’t want there to be even a modicum, even a shred of doubt in their mind about the way you feel.

Maybe you can’t love away their fears or doubts or self-consciousness. Maybe they still have hurdles to overcome on their own and in their own due time. But you can still love them so ardently, so constantly, that it reassures them over and over, time and time again, as many times as they need and then some… that they already have your love, that they deserve it and don’t need to do anything to “earn” it.
