“It’s kind of a really nice day. He decides to walk around the block. On the side of the road he see’s a woman’s tennis shoe filled with leaves and it fills him with inexplicable sadness. He walks down his side street and sees striking colors in the faces of people around him, details in these beautiful brick walls and weeds that he must have passed every day but never noticed. The air smells different, brighter somehow, and the currents under the bridge look strange and vivid, and the sun is warming his face, and the world is clumsy and beautiful and new. And it’s as though he’s been sleepwalking for God knows how long and something has violently shaken him awake. His bathmats are gorgeous. The grain patterns in his cheap wood cabinets vibrate something deep within him. He’s fascinated by the way his paper towels drink water. He’s never really appreciated these things. All this detail he’s never noticed. Detail. He’s alive. The stars rattled him to the core. All these lights have traveled for tens of millions of years to reach him at this moment. How somehow far away our own sun looks just like this. How many of the stars no longer even exist, but whose ancient light is just reaching him now. An impression from a ghost. An amazing infinite time machine every night above his head that he’s ignored for most of his life. He wants to stop people in the street and say ‘Isn’t this amazing? Isn’t everything amazing?’”

my aesthetic: buying tickets to see Sigur Ros and NXT on the same day, and being slightly more excited about NXT
is better than
with the caveat that tetris attack is a puzzle league game yes i agree with this but i prefer puzzle league to tetris in general
yeah i knew this one would be messy since it’s panel de pon and all… but idk same name same game. i felt it an acceptable stretch. like mario 2 usa would still be a mario game imo etc etc? in regards to this comparison thing i mean…
i could bring out the big nerd guns and point out that mario 2 was originally in development to be a mario game before it became doki doki but really idgaf :V i’m happy to read this both as tetris attack > tetris and puzzle league > tetris
i mean, tetris attack is better than the vast majority of games in general so this is true about most things
is better than
are you serious who has ever even played these
dawg i put like 20 hours into WarioWare for the GBA, and probably somewhere over a hundred in the series in general
Even the White House says the machines are coming, so let’s give humans a universal basic income.
Hmm, this was interesting. I feel like I haven’t seen much that has appreciated how big of a deal an AI being great at Go is. I didn’t even realize they projected that as something that was viable in a decade. also how long does the rise of automation cause us to worry infinitely less about immigration?
oh my god I started laughing before I even started reading the script and did it ever deliver
sharing good news
Star Wars is particularly good at tailoring its villains to what people of the time fear most: in the late 70’s/early 80’s, it was faceless, militaristic dictators, in the late 90’s/early 00’s it was shady politicians who seize power questionably and then immediately start wars with murky ulterior motives, and in the 10’s, it’s twentysomething white men with no self-control.
OH SHIT
