Black people dont need to be made into animals or aliens to become “palatable” to audiences. We are alive and we have stories to share. If you want to see black kids share their story with the world considering following FLY on Kickstarter. We launch June 9th ! (link in bio)
A coming of age story about Black kids who finally have power to fight back against systems designed against them.
$550 is still missing… if only 22 people donate $25 each, we can finally save my sister and get her the treatment she desperately needs. My sister has now gone 4 days without her medication while she is still in intensive care, and her condition is getting worse instead of improving after the surgery. Please, we are begging you not to leave her alone in this condition.💔
Every hour without treatment is terrifying us. We already fought so hard just to get her through surgery, and now we are scared of losing her because we cannot afford the medicine she urgently needs. The donations are very few, and people keep ignoring our cries while my sister suffers in pain in the ICU.😔💔
I am exhausted from begging every single day, but I cannot stop because my sister’s life depends on it. Please, even a small donation can make a huge difference for her right now. If 22 kind people donate only $25, we can reach the amount needed and help my sister continue fighting to survive.🙏😔💔

one of the hardest things to learn as a depressed former Gifted Kid™ is that half-assed is better than nothing. take the 50%, 40%, even 20% job. scrubbing your face is better than not taking a shower at all. picking up your clothes is better than never cleaning. nibbling on some bread is better than starving.
DO THINGS HALFWAY. NOW YOU’RE 100% BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE BEFORE.
One of my college professors used to say “anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.” I didn’t understand that for years because I didn’t do anything poorly, I couldn’t do anything poorly, I had to Do Everything Perfectly.
But brushing your teeth for 30 seconds is better than not brushing them at all when that 2 minutes seems exhausting. Doing ten minutes of yoga is better than 10 minutes of sitting when 30 minutes of cardio sounds impossible. Changing my clothes is good when a whole shower is impossible. Standing on the porch for a few minutes is worth it after being in the house for three straight days because I don’t have the energy to go anywhere.
Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly… because doing it poorly is better than not doing it.
someone please hit me over the head with this post every day for like the next week thanks. a mention, a reblog with text, a message, something.
You must understand that perfectionism isn’t striving for excellence, it’s a crippling fear of being flawed and therefore worth abandonment or punishment. It’s a kind of psychological avoidance. You’re avoiding fear and failure , not embracing the thing you want to do bc if it was about the thing you want to do you’d be fine with partial victory.
One little thing I’ve been doing lately since I saw this post for the first time is using mouthwash. More specifically, on the nights where I have no energy to brush my teeth, I make myself at least go use mouthwash so my mouth is at least cleaner than it was.
more arc-v but it's just yugo (and some yuri)

Thank you, Black people in fandom spaces. Thank you, Black creators and Black lurkers. Thank you Black artists, Black writers. Thank you, Black bloggers, Black influencers. Shoutout to those Black characters, both canon and original. Thank you, Black people, both queer and cishet.
Your perspectives matter. Your representation matters. You are not bothersome for demanding equal treatment in fandom. It is not your responsibility to make fandom more welcoming and inclusive to you. It is not your sole responsibility to create all of the Black-centered content. You are not "ruining" anyone's fun for demanding better for yourself, and anyone who says otherwise can go fuck themselves. Any fandom worth being a part of should have no room for racism in it.
Black people in fandom, you are wanted. You are needed. You are loved and appreciated. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
And since they don't get told it near enough, thank you, Black women especially!!!

gonna be real asf and morbid here: currently in the USA from my perspective as a black American, in the south they are creating worse voting protection for black voters in Louisiana iirc (jim crow shit essentially) black girls (in the UK too) keep going missing, there is a black femicide. black teens and folks are being murdered and essentially lynched. and their deaths in vain and lost to time because our skin and features don't match the white American. things are scary here.
they wanna teach you that lynching is non-existent after it was outlawed but that's not true, black folks are still being murdered, our fatalities feeding the greedy American soil that has countless blood on it around the world. I'm scared.

Isn’t it kind of fun how when your life sucks you just can’t talk about it with anyone
I’m serious though. When your life reaches a degree of suckage, you find yourself having to look elsewhere for anything at all to talk about. The things going on in your life are trauma dumping. Your past is probably also trauma dumping. So you have to get really weird about specific things or hope that others want to talk to you, because very quickly people are going to develop an aversion to you and the way your life sucks. Unless you just don’t talk about it
It’s socially isolating, which is dangerous—when you’re in this sort of situation, community is the difference between life and death, housing and homelessness.
I think the collective prioritization of comfort first is hurting people in a real and material sense
