drew took a close look at lacy’s expression. don’t get her wrong, they were ugly braces, but they didn’t make her that ugly. even her level of ugly was miles and miles more cute than this walking trashcan trying to make her cry. drew’s eyes are dangerously angry now.

“you know, i think that boy really likes the look of that brick wall. so much so that he is going to run into it, face first. right now.”

–that was chamspeak. vicious chamspeak that piper would yell at her later for. who the fuck cared? the boy who’d been teasing lacy moments ago suddenly finds himself jogging cheerfully into the wall, and toppling back on his ass with a bruise bigger than his fist ready to swell on his forehead.

lacy was trying to pull herself together, especially in front of drew. she hated how WEAK she was, and lacy figured drew thought she was pathetic. how could she not?

when drew used the charmspeak, lacy felt fearful. the boy didn’t appear too injured, but lacy wasn’t worth it. “please-- please no more hurting him, okay? it’s not... i’m fine.”

and she gave a teary smile to try and prove it.
