That original date haunts me
I'm taking a bath with lights off and a lit scented candle, I thought it would be a nice relaxing experience but I feel like a draugr in a skyrim dungeon
Matt really said “it is my god given RIGHT! To turn my brain ALL the way off and simply be DUMB AS HELL on this show” and you know what? Hes right
WELCOEM TO MY FUCK HOUSE
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
this post is still good even without the glitch that’s how good this post is
for those who forgot about the hellhole that was the 2015 tumblr glitch:
watch the whole thing, i’m begging you
this is NUTS
Reblogging this again because I found out he’s actually the drummer in an all-mascot metal band called Charamel.
wait a second
Holy fucking shit dude
This person made a very sincere 11 minute video about the reason why characters still get snuck up on by zombies in The Walking Dead is cos they’re all going deaf from shooting guns too much
thinking about how fiona's bit in the first shrek movie about how ogres are so ugly and unlovable, which is overheard by shrek, is the perfect example of how self-deprecation can really harm not only the people around you who love and care for you, but also people who share the same characteristics that you are mocking in yourself
I need to do a better job of reminding myself of this.
Friendly reminder that corporations are not your friends, no matter how many rainbows they splatter all over during pride month
for the draft thing: when i start writing novels i always have a lot of beginning, a fair amount of backstory, a solid ending, and maybe one or two key events in between, but nothing in the middle. i'm never sure how to approach this and it usually kills a lot of my projects :/ not sure if this is a question you can answer easily but if there's any tips i'd love to hear it!

palpatine straight up told anakin he was a sith lord and anakin was like well. this is a lot to process so im going to go fetch my boss and we’ll come back in about half an hour and murder you so don’t go anywhere and palpatine didn’t you have to admire the man
palpatine is the best villain of all time bc he's the classic master manipulator who pits his enemies against each other without lifting a finger by preying on their weaknesses but normally those types of villains have the caveat that once their bullshit get exposed it's a simple matter of slapping handcuffs on them bc they're like weak old CEOs or whatever
but our boy sheev? when his plans don't go perfectly he's just like oh well and starts zapping fuckers to death bc he's also the most powerful old prune in the galaxy and he could just kill everyone around him if he gets bored
like luke throwing away his lightsaber and declaring himself a jedi was great but you know that luke kinda thought that was it, the crotchety old emperor doesn't have vader to fight for him anymore courtesy of luke cutting off vader's hand for possibly the fortieth time in anakin's life, so it's smooth sailing until lando destroys the death star and blasts them all to kingdom come, but then palps is like aw shucks no new apprentice can't blame a guy for trying and just starts deep frying luke for shits and giggles and our poor twink is like THIS ISN'T ONE OF THE THINGS I THOUGHT THE FORCE COULD DO ABORT ABORT ABORT
and with mace and co arriving at sheev's office to bring him in for being dark catholic it's functionally the equivalent of a scooby doo villain of the week getting unmasked by the gang but then he just starts snapping necks
Pride is almost here so I think it is good to remember pride isn't here thanks to world wide companies who "dress in rainbow" just for a month. Pride is here because trans women, butch lesbians, gay men, queer people of color and every other memeber of the LGBTQ+ community fought in the past and still fighting today. There are still a lot of things to fight for. So keep fighting until we are sure each one of us is safe and happy. Have a great pride month.
Also trans men. Because posts like this always mention trans women but not trans men. It is possible to support transfeminine people without perpetuating the myth that trans men have never been involved in our own history. Thanks.
Jamison Green, born in 1948. He was a pioneer for trans men after Lou Sullivan's death. He's still alive.
Carter Brown, a victim of workplace transphobia, and the founder of Black Transmen Inc.
Robert Eads, 1945-1999. Pictured with his trans female partner, Lola. I recommend watching Southern Comfort, which follows him throughout his final year of life. His story is a beautiful one, but also a tragic example of medical transphobia.
Loren Cameron, born in 1959. A photographer and artist, who curated exceptional and groundbreaking collections of trans photography.
Willmer Broadnax, 1916-1992. A black gospel singer who never medically transitioned, but lived his entire life as a male, in public.
Lucas Silveira, born in 1979. He is the first openly transgender man to have signed with a major record label. He is still alive.
Billy Tipton, 1914-1989. He did not undergo a medical transition, but raised multiple children, and had a successful musical career.
Jim McHarris, a black trans man born in 1954, who you can read more about here.
Reed Erickson, 1917-1992. You can read about his insanely important contribution to LGBT+ progress here.
Stop erasing trans male stories by leaving us out of Pride Month posts.
Trans men are not a footnote in history.
Trans men are not an afterthought.
We have always been around.
Erasure of trans men, and transmasculine people more generally, perpetuates the myth that queerness is inherently feminine. Butch lesbians, male impersonators, and trans men have always been central to LGBT+ progress and pride. I'm tired of people defaulting to anti-FTM mindsets, or at the very least, erasing trans men as their first instinct. I'm sick of the invisibility that we suffer. I'm sick of masculine lesbians, like Stormé DeLarverie, being treated as irrelevant. I feel so much solidarity with butches and lesbians who have been cut out of history, because the same thing is happening to trans men.
This Pride Month, when you see a post claiming trans women are the only ones who ever contributed to progress, remember to critically think. Remember all the work that trans men have done. Remember the masculine people, and men, who died so that we could live. Who stood alongside drag queens and trans women.
The fact that he’s the happiest about School of Rock, and the fact that School of Rock is my ultimate comfort film, makes me very pleased
He is right though, because of this movie he starred in “rock schools” opened all over the country. A lot of music lessons in general took a shift from traditional music based to teaching kids how to be in a band. I took piano lessons as a teen at one of those schools and the teacher taught me out of a lesson book but also taught me how to play a Dresden Dolls song. His movie changed/modernized music education, I’m so glad he’s most proud of that movie.
Shortstaffing should be illegall
"But what if I can't afford to hire more employees?"
If you have more customers than your employees can handle and you're still not making enough, then you need to sort out your finances. Raise prices if necessary.
Your overhead isn't worth more than your workers' health.
“And if that’s not enough, then just buy more money!”
Listen. If you cannot afford to pay all your employees a living wage and employ a number of people equal to the workload, then you are bad at business management and should consider exploring other career paths. Such as being a cashier.
y’all might be thinking that small businesses would get the short end here. but the thing is, all the small businesses i’ve ever worked for or been involved with, when they didn’t have enough employees to cover the time, the owner worked it themselves, or they closed early/opened late.
the places that consistently shortstaff are big franchises, especially fast food chains. they prey on desperate workers who can’t afford to say no, and use them up like they’re disposable. it’s disgusting and it should be as illegal as hiring 9 year olds or holding paychecks hostage.
