“My disrespectful ass family didn’t take all this home cooked food home…ridiculous. I’ve got a four year old who knows how to use the fridge so…you’re taking this. It’s a bunch of cookies and cake and shit.” Kali handed it to the first person who caught her eye, sliding a big foiled wrapped plate of food over the counter as she stood on the other side of the bar, as one of her bartenders served other patrons at the club. “You’re not allowed to say no I already packed you a plate. Merry Easter.”
Maya listens to the other woman go off about her family and nods to show her understanding. She’d only been to this club a couple times. Something she was trying to convince herself was a good change in her routine. She puts her hand on the plate and raises the other in defeat. “I’m not saying no-- but do you think you could keep it back here until I take off--” She requests over the music. “You never know what some idiot with a sugar tooth is going to do if I carry it around while I’m dancing.” She attempts to joke.
