Something something Hans hearing about Henry becoming a hero of the Trosky region during their time apart and it burning Hans up inside because Henry should've spent 3 days in a foreign region with nothing but the shirt on his back and come crawling and groveling for forgiveness for what he said to Hans at the pillory and to figure out what to do together and instead Henry is THRIVING while Hans is forced to lower himself to poaching hunting off a fellow nobleman's land and camping in a cave to survive like a wild man

BUTBUTBUT the worst part is - word (reputation) travels so fast that Hans can't get away from Henry at all

Like, Hans overhearing about how Henry saving that poor lad from Semine and the nomad woman. Hans hearing about how Henry beat everyone's asses in at the Semine Mill without breaking a sweat like he's some demigod hero. Henry settling a generations-long dispute between two rival villages. Henry taking on packs of wolves and whole troops of bandits and Cumans and Henry getting songs sung about him at the tavern when Hans can barely scrape a couple of groschen together to pay for the beer in front of him and don't talk to him like that he's nobility even though his clothes don't look like it right now and he's currently sleeping outside but good for Henry that he's now besties with Lord Jan Semine himself apparently

And then Henry shows up TO HIS CAMP in actual armor, looking fresh as a daisy even though it's only been a few days since they've seen each other, because Henry is taking care of the poachers around the area and Hans is still wallowing in a cave and he has the AUDACITY to tell Hans to stop?!$(^(

No wonder Hans didn't want to talk to him at the wedding. He didn't want to catch up because he had heard about it all already from everyone in the Trosky region that could only sing Henry's praises

Something Something this wasn't the plan this wasn't the plan at all but I'm gonna step in when I see Henry in trouble because even though Henry could probably get himself out of this and even though i could strangle him with that red string of fate that binds us together and even though I am SOOO CHAFED that Henry seemed to rise to local hero while I debased myself that is MY BOY AND YOU ARENT ALLOWED HURT HIM
