If I'm looking for the perfect dress at the eleventh hour before a nice cocktail party, I need to walk into a Nordstrom's, not a TJ Maxx.
Janice Plado Dalager, regarding her metaphor for the experiences we create.
Try to learn to breathe deeply, really to taste food when you eat, and when you sleep, really to sleep. Try as much as possible to be wholly alive with all your might, and when you laugh, laugh like hell. And when you get angry, get good and angry. Try to be alive. You will be dead soon enough.

Got any #ValentinesDay āaftermathā? Tell me http://svy.mk/VmKQGi, & get a #gift!
From my #dating blog: I'd love to give you a late Valentine's gift! <3 Especially, if you were one of the holiday "survivors."
TGI-Over, right? http://svy.mk/VmKQGiĀ Is it too soon to talk about it?
A deal worth sharing. I own this book AND the bonus video. I'm not getting any kickbacks if you buy it. I just think both are packed with "unconventional" actions to get to living a life you love EFFECTIVELY. Put simply, it's kickass. You follow a few tips, accomplish a few things more effectively (in time AND energy) than you could, and you feel like a million bucks. My favorite stuff so far, between both the book & the video course: Language learning hacks, anti-cancer teas, sexy steak, startup critique, revolutionizing nonprofit, self-defense kicks for women... For all that you receive, this is a smoking deal! I got the book by buying the video (not nearly as good a deal as you're getting for the next hour), and I STILL think it was well worth every penny!
What you choose to think about yourself and about life becomes true for you. And we have unlimited choices about what we can think.

Just realized Iāve had my ādonāt f*ck with meā-face on all afternoon. No particular reason; I guess itās just comfortableā¦maybe a little too comfortable.
What I see as a result is that Iām getting exactly what I ask for ā and nothing more. End of story. With it, I get the sense of control, but...
This is what "Choose Your Attitude" is all about. Once you are aware of the controllable reason WHY you're not getting the results you want or expect, you have to start choosing differently than you have been to get different results instead.
And let's face it: Plenty of people have worn this face and provided SUFFICIENT service. But has anyone with this face ever provided you AWESOME customer service?
Yeah, didn't think so.
Thankfully, choice-making is applicable to attitude as well - and delivers near-instantaneous results. Take it from someone who's experienced it happen to herself. Then try it out on your own!
Thank You for Your Rejection
In yesterdayās CreativeLIVE broadcast, Tim Ferriss of the 4-Hour series of learning books interviewed Noah Kagan, founder of AppSumo, regarding entrepreneurship.
Because I was with theSGD at the time, I was only able to catch a few minutes. And that was enough to hear the importance of rejection, and how an entrepreneur needs to learn the lessons that come from rejection. With that, Noah offered all us listeners an easy way to get rejected today by emailing him at HiNoah@AppSumo,com, and he would NOT respond. He did this, daring, āMost of you wonāt do it because you donāt want to be rejected!ā
So, I was caught. Was I going to be one of the āmostā! Or would I seek rejection - or in this case, being outright ignored?
I had to do it! Even if it was a silly date. But sometimes, silly is exactly what it takes.
Emails away! Hereās what I came up with. How would YOU respond? (I considered the super-vulgar, rumor-riddled approach (Think, the angry āI canāt believe you f*ckin broke up with me, you f*ckin a*sholeā-email. I decided to go with this one first. Who knows what creative license I decide to take once this initial rejection sets in⦠.)
Enjoy!
To: Noah Kagan, AppSumo Re: Thank you for your rejection
Hi, Noah -
Thanks again for the opportunity to get rejected! I saw you on CreativeLIVE with Tim Ferriss, & I simply hope I am one of the rare people who sought your rejection today.
Thanks so much for your help in making me a better person and a stronger entrepreneur.
Feel free to move this to your email Trash folder. OR, if you have a moment, please respond in the way that you feel would āteach me a good lessonā in my growth as an entrepreneur. I appreciate the learning experience either way.
All the best, - Janice

Rock it, @MindyKaling ! Another one to put on my "People I Must Interview"-list. (Or is that a "People I Want Others to Learn About"- or a "People I'd Like to Have Coffee With"-list?)
Thursday? Already?
Is it just me, or did this week suddenly disappear into thin air? "Like sands in the hourglass..." I've got plenty on my To-Do list, but a full To-Do list is a given for most of us. I thought I'd try something different this week. So, here's my question: What do you have on your list that you still want to do before the week's up? If you don't mind sharing it, I'd be honored to hold this in intention for you. Call it crazy, but intention has helped me get more of the important stuff done when I needed it - & shared intention is even more powerful & effective. Don't knock it 'til you try it! (And don't forget to share your results!)
Election Day in the USA
I had been feeling bad & praying for all the voters this election, as I hadn't received my voter registration card & assumed that I had missed the registration deadline last month. It is another grueling election, with some divisive issues & campaigning. Sigh. But participation in our elections process is a way of being part of this nation's growth and healing. Alas, my card arrived in yesterday's mail! I'll be toting TheSGD into the polling place with me this morning. Now I'm praying for myself too. Voters, may our decisions be blessed today. Blessing to all the candidates and to the United States of America.
