tbh i think the funniest phenomena that's been happening in the last couple years is "youtuber, having gone too deep into the research hole, has been made an investigative journalist against their will"
Shout out to the guy who wanted to do some fun & silly little reviews but uncovered an illegal gambling operation
(Review 2)
this guy started out poking fun at australian politicians and ended up investigating the firebombing of his own home, during which he uncovered connections between the same politician he was making fun of + major organized crime
JasperDasper started out just curious why everything had suddenly become about trans people and questioning some of the sources used in a book. He came out of it, 4 years later, with a 5 hour long video that connects all transphobia to less than 60 people. (I'm not joking. literally every single transphobic rhetoric and bill passed is because of these 50 or so people.)
If you wanna watch it I cannot recommend it enough; I just warn that it covers a LOT.

While famine and violence are addressed the most - rightfully so - I feel like we underestimate diseases outbreaks that occur when water is contaminated and the surrounding environment is unsanitary and unsafe. Many people fall ill at the same time. They are rushed to the nearest hospital. It is overflowing. There are not enough doctors, nurses, or resources. Their lives are on the line!
This is the case for Sudan. We are in the third (3rd) year of the genocide. Cholera (a bacterial infection in the small intestines due to contaminated food and/or water) outbreaks are taking place! It is the worst outbreak in the past 40 years!
Enough is enough. We need a permanent ceasefire now! Please make some noise for Sudan. Boycott the UAE, donate to fundraisers and organizations, and protest! Consider helping this family of 13. They have been raising funds to evacuate for 2 years, but donations have been painfully slow to the point the family have decided to lower their goal from 20K to 10K so they can pay rent and purchase essentials, such as food, medicine, and supplies! Please donate and share. There is $3,358 left to go! You can match me! I have given $5, but you're more than welcome to give any amount!

I am Mohammed, I live in the northern besieged Gaza Strip, I am 21 years old, I have always tried to create a beautiful future for myself in which I achieve all my wishes. I had ambitions and dreams, but they evaporated because of the war, but I still want to achieve them despite the siege. During the war, I lost many things, including my university, my dreams, my job, and some friends. Despite that, I still want to achieve my dreams and ambitions. I want to rebuild my life again, so please help me in that and rebuild my life. Therefore,
please donate as much as you can because that helps me a lot. If you cannot donate, tell people about my suffering.
My name is Mohammed, I live in a neighborhood in Shujaiyya, an area in the north of Gaza. I am 21 years old , the eldest among my siblings.

When we see a Palestinian close to his goal, let's help him together to get there as soon as possible. We see their dignity being lost on Tumblr, and we see the opposite. We must help them and send them our best wishes.
Enough of the betrayal. Enough of the neglect. Let's return to being like before When the Rafah crossing is opened, these people will be evacuated, including my friend Ibrahim.
Isn't it enough that we die every day under occupation? Our dignity is being crushed there, so we come here, seeking your words and support...But we find abandonment. Even here, our dignity is being lost. Please... don't abandon us. Donate. Retweet our voice.
When you see a Palestinian struggling despite everything...despite the war, despite the isolation, despite the pain...and moving closer to their goal, step by step, don't stand by and watch.
Don't let their voice be drowned out by the noise. Help them, even with a repost, a prayer, a word, a donation... everything makes a difference These are not just numbers or fleeting posts. These are human beings with dreams, loved ones, and ambitions that have been lost under the bombardment.

Check out this website for helping out campaigns that don't get a lot of attention:
This is made by Twitter user @ mqudsi
i don’t get horror movies, why doesn’t the protagonist just act in a way which will prevent a story from being told or piece of entertaining media made
please donate to the sameer project, they're running out of money and losing traction. i gave $50 just now, if you have any money to spare please consider skipping the next online purchase or order-in food and donate, it's really simple and easy to do.
Let me tell you what’s really happening behind the TV screens and on the ground in Gaza.
To those who believe there is an "improvement" in Gaza—wake up.
We write from North Gaza, where crossings are nearly closed and aid barely reaches us—less than 1% of what we need. No medicine, no flour, no clean water. Children are starving and dying from lack of treatment.Today, over 100 martyrs fell—mostly women and children.
CNN reports many children are dying of starvation due to the blockade and collapsing healthcare.
Aid has started entering southern Gaza because of your voices—but we need more.
Please pressure to send aid to North Gaza. Time is running out. We can’t endure this much longer.
If we needed help before, now we need you more than ever.PLEASE DONATE WHATEVER YOU CAN
There is no ceasefire, no breakthrough—only slow death and silence.
Save Gaza before it’s too late.🙏
The humanitarian situation is deteriorating morning and evening in the northern Gaza Strip. The aid distribution plan in the southern Gaza Strip will cost us the lives of thousands from our children.
Hunger is the worst feeling in the universe 😔 How can you convince a little child to eat only half a loaf of bread all day from morning until evening and there is no other food? How can a little child sleep while he is hungry?
are you disabled?
yes
no
maybe, but I don't know if it "counts"
Anyone who is committed to solidarity with disabled, chronically ill, and traumatized people:
Fadel ( @fadel-dani ) is in his early 20s. He's chronically ill with thalassemia, a blood disorder. The price of the medicine is too high to afford, and struggles with fainting.
He and his family have been displaced multiple times in the genocide. When his family returned to their home, bombs were dropped on them, destroying his childhood home.
Fadel woke up in a hospital and learned that, while unconscious, he had undergone surgery to remove metal shrapnel that had become lodged in his body in the bombing. Because of the extreme danger and the collapse of the health system, some of the pieces could not removed at their location.
The doctor assessed his health and told his family that he needs to receive treatment in another country as soon as possible. Obviously, doing so safely requires coordination and funds for both travel and the surgical fees once they get to a hospital. He has been living in a tent and trying to raise funds since then.
His campaign is vetted by: @gazavetters list (#197) and @90-ghost and @a-shade-of-blue
After fundraising for over 300 days, he had raised €14,500 (almost 50% of the €30,000 he needs). Then April 25, GoFundMe deleted his fundraiser with no warning or clear explanation. He contacted GoFundMe's technical support, but they ignored him and didn't respond.
He has had to restart all over again with a new fundraiser. So far only €3,522 donations have come in, a mere 12% of what he needs.
(All donations were returned to their donors, so if you previously donated, please return that money to him!)
He is still suffering the physical and psychological pain of feeling shrapnel from the Israeli bombing that destroyed his childhood home embedded in his body.
He is badly injured from a bombing, leaving him with fragments of metal in his body. He is in need of urgent surgery to remove them. He struggles with constant pain from this.
He has PTSD from repeated severe trauma, including the bombing of his childhood home while he was inside which left him with the fragments in his body. There is bombing around him, and he fears for his life constantly.
He is starving. Genocidal famine is being forced on him, his family, and many other families in Gaza.
If you have ever reblogged anything about chronic illness, disability, inaccessibility of healthcare, trauma, or food insecurity, recognize your commonality and solidarity with him.
Please donate anything you can.
