my #1 gamer hot take is that the shakespeare puzzle on hard mode in silent hill 3 is actually really cool and fun and gamers have just never read a book or ever paid attention in english class
$80 games becoming the norm
i WILL be happy even if i must FORCE it by gritted tooth and nail
imagine the sorriest wettest rat of a man comes to your door and he tries to lie to you about healing the condition that is destroying your life and he's such an obvious fraud but you feel sorry for him so you let him in even though he has smelly feet and he's only at your house to look for buried treasure same as everyone else. but then it turns out when you let him pretend to cure you you're able to find the metaphysical maze built by your problematic gay dad and the treasure's there and actually it was for you, this was always how it was going to end, is he even real? because you will go to the theatre and there masks will fall and all will be revealed (but not to him somehow) and your ascension will loom, you have no time, places in five! but at least you get to wear some sick shades while those strings net you up. please, hold me. and in the end it turns out you're not even dead anyway because someone won't forget you and since she needs help with other things she won't forget you figure you might as well guide her to her own truth. why is someone watching? how is someone watching? she's passed and now your memory is on fucking tumblr? happened to my friend renate
If you look at the goodreads lists that Flowers in the Attic is on, there are some fascinating minds at work too. It's one of the top voted on "books with unnecessary romance subplots," which makes one contemplate the apparently real category of "person who did not realize there was going to be incest in the famous incest book."
Every book on goodreads is 3.8 stars except for Sooo I Guess I Have to Run a Coffeeshop With This Lesbian Minotaur, which is 4.2 stars
9/11
not even joking this is one of the worst possible changes that i could've reasonably conceived of to happen to video games.
having thought about it this is a generationally anti-consumer announcement that will have a profoundly detrimental impact on consumers and retail markets. this will price out new consumers even more than a $600 PS5 and $80 games will. this will make games less accessible and more nickel-and-dimed. this will make games impossible to share irl without giving your console up, and will stop institutions like libraries from being able to loan copies of modern games. and most importantly, it will be for a minimal profit, as most of the sales in video games are already digital.
this is such a staggeringly catastrophic piece of news that i'm shocked it wasn't said by nintendo. congrats to sony for one-upping them in anti-consumer practices.

The long-lost remains of King Alfred the Great have been found buried under a car park, investigators claim.
Alfred died in 899, and his bones were repeatedly moved. He was buried in Winchester Cathedral until 1110, when his remains were moved to Winchester's Hyde Abbey, where they were interred before the high altar between the bodies of his wife and son. The abbey was demolished after the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539, and the place was left in ruins. In 1866, during construction of a workhouse on the site, the English antiquarian John Mellor excavated the area, found what he thought were Alfred's bones and had them reburied at nearby St. Bartholemew’s Church. But in 2013, when archaeologists exhumed and carbon-dated the bones from St. Bartholomew’s churchyard, they proved to date from over 200 years after Alfred’s death - sparking Graham's interest and search. He said: "Whoever’s bones they were, they weren’t Alfred’s. So, I decided to discover what happened to them. "The quest has taken me 13 years.”
shut up they did not find another goddamn king under another goddamn car park
God I fucking love being a monk at the Monastery of Lindisfarne on this fine morning of June 8th, 793. I love looking at all the gold and silver objects and alive monks that live here.
victor hugo was out of paris when his beloved novel les misérables was first published, so he telegraphed his publisher “?” to inquire about the book’s reception, to which his publisher promptly responded, “i still think you should have made inspector javert an elf girl”
I still like listening to we are young by fun.
