I just learned about chytridiomycota (the frog killing fungus).

As I understand (im not a professional, please correct me if you can) in the 80-90s scientists noticed a significant decrease in amphibian biomass and were scrambling to find the cause. Turns out, a fungus from Korea has spread all over the world due to breeding and trading of live frogs and toads. It established itself in water ecosystems and infected over 500 species of amphibians, wiping out more than 90.
