Good. Boy. Clever. Boy. Good. Boy. Clever. Boy, Panfilo chants in his head, brandishing his dead wifeâs body as he moves down the stairs. There is a rightness to all of this, a sort of poetic perfection, but that doesnât mean he isnât scared. Perhaps itâs a little late for this epiphany, but he realizes, for the first time, that he likes to be scared! Heâs spent so much of his time and energy and cleverness avoiding this exact feeling, only to discover that it makes him feel alive.
It is an insane plan. He doesnât feel bad; he knows she would have loved it. Other people never understood that thatâs what they had in common: a willingness to do whatever it takes. It is her final gift to him. He could not die before, but now, with her in his arms, he can do anything.
This, then, is how they will consummate their marriage, finally penetrated simultaneously. He is so full of grief and rage that he thinks the first arrow might feel good.
It does not.

if this isnât a mistake my head is going to genuinely explode like what the actual fuck there was no foreshadowing no hints no anything to indicate b-15 is a loki like. the other lokis we get something to tell us âthis is a loki!â but we donât get anything for b-15 not even when sylvie lets her look into her memories!! the only way this would make any sense is if the entire gddamn tva is loki and thatâs just stupid!!! ugh i wanted to stop being negative about this show but thereâs really no editing for this show or the promo material itâs all just whatever bullshit pops into the writersâ heads first
And Dumbledore is gay.
In my humble opinion Loki not wearing his asgardian outfit and Loki not using magic are not the worst things about Loki series. Of course both of those things stand out a mile and they are indeed quite disappointing, I wonât argue with that. On second thought they are outweighed by a much graver problem though. Namely Loki acting out of character for most of the time to the point he is not recognizable as Loki any more. One might even say they are a part of this very problem (depending how you look at it). I would go as far as to say that it is entirely possible to create a Loki wearing random midgardian clothes and fighting using mostly physical force and daggers and yet being entirely in character. After all this was the case in the earlier movies (especially in regard to fighting) and Loki from the earlier movies is actually the one we use as a sort of a prototype, as a standard to which we compare all other Lokis when we decide for ourselves if a Loki is in character or not (at least I do). What I am trying to say is that in my opinion a Loki does not become âless Lokiâ if he uses less magic or wears a simple outfit. And the TV!Loki wonât become âmore Lokiâ if he suddenly starts dressing as an asgardian and using magic left and right. Because those changes are superficial and wonât affect his personality, on the inside he still will lack depth and subtlety and all other aspects that make up the real Loki.Â
TLDR; I would trade Loki lifting buildings with magic for Loki acting in character without thinking twice.
Exactly. Loki not using his magic or wearing his clothes are symptoms of the fundamental problem - the showâs desire to strip him of everything both superficial and essential that made him unique or interesting as a character. There are tons of amazing fics where Loki doesnât have access to his magic or his armor and is imprisoned and still feels completely in character. Thereâs fan art of Jotun!Loki AUs where heâs not dressed the way he is in canon and is using a different set of powers, and yet heâs still instantly recognizable, without even having to read the tags on the art, as a different version of Loki. This character is not a different version of Loki. Heâs a whole other character played by the same actor. If I saw a still or a clip of him without knowing the context I wouldnât recognize him as Loki.Â
The show intentionally and systematically removed everything iconic to the character because the point of the series seems to be to make a cartoonish mockery of him. So yes, that includes taking away his badass armor and nerfing his powers. But more importantly the show gave him an entirely new (and utterly cringey and uninteresting) character. He has a totally differ way of speaking, reacting, behaving, emoting, and standing. Even his skin tone and hair texture are different. So just like Loki still felt like Loki in the scenes in Avengers and Thor 2011 where he wore Earth clothing, this character even if he later dresses as Loki and uses some of his powers, will still feel like Larry dressing as Loki rather than like Loki himself. And I didnât sign up for the Larry show. I would pay Disney money for Loki content. Iâm not interested in buying Larry content from them. Iâm just not. And I think a lot of others feel the same, hence the cratering interest in the show (probably especially from casual viewers).
Why do you think Hyundai ignored the show in their commercial and gave us actual Loki content? Itâs because their advertising team looked at Larry and said âthis guy wonât sell cars; we want Loki.â Larry is intentionally designed to be unappealing. And it works. I donât care about him. But I also donât like anyone else in the show. The showâs obsession with destroying Lokiâs character has caused it to sabotage itself. I donât get it. Disney couldâve made a fantastic Loki show and drawn millions of new subscribers to Disney+ at a moment when their subscription rate is flagging (indeed their stock even fell recently bc Disney+ missed growth estimates). Instead they sabotage their own character and make a mockery of him and his fans. Why???? Like seriously if anyone understands why, tell me.  Because I donât get it.Â
@iamnmbr3 its like someone who already said so im gonna use their words - if series was my first introduction to Loki, i wouldnt like him. I wouldnt care about him. I would find him to be annoying and useless and dumb & irrelevant to the story because the sole focus is on Sylvie & i would think they keep him on the show because he looks good.
How could they ruin his character so much astonishes me. Especialy since Tom is executive producer & he gave them âLoki lecturesâ. It appears they were used only for promo.
@ crazyaboutloki Right. Thatâs exactly right. Lokiâs lack of power in the show is annoying, but itâs not the root problem. Itâs that heâs being portrayed as an incompetent, egotistical, delusional clown who canât find his ass with both hands. Thatâs the problem. I wouldnât even care that much if he didnât display any magical powers as long as he could still be shown to be a competent, bad-ass fighter, as intelligent and emotionally complex. But instead heâs just a ânarcissistâ who craves unearned attention, and goes around claiming heâs a âgodâ while getting his ass handed to him by regular human beings. Fucking Jesus Christ. He takes nothing seriously, thereâs no weight or gravity to his actions or reactions, thereâs no display of intelligence, or thoughtfulness. He lets himself get beat up, as if thatâs supposed to be some kind of character development. Like heâs acknowledged that heâs a total loser and a piece of shit, and so now he thinks he deserves to be treated as such, and entirely lacks any self-respect. But thatâs not character development, itâs character regression. I said before, but Loki already struggled with issues of self-esteem and self-worth. But that didnât mean he didnât have some RESPECT for himself, and feel he should be treated with some respect. We see him defend himself against Sif and her accusations in the first Thor film, we see how it HURTS him when Volstagg makes fun of him on the Bifrost, we see his emotional devastation when he learns heâs a frost giant, and believes thatâs the reason Odin never showed him love. Â
Heâs portrayed in this show as if every bad thing thatâs ever happened to him is his fault, and no one else contributed to his insecurities AT ALL, and Loki himself seems to accept that, and in turn, accept that he deserves to continue being treated like shit. Yay. Great messaging there. Someone suffering from deep feelings of self-loathing, internalized racism, and a belief that heâs unloved and unwanted by years of mistreatment and neglect, accepts the abuse as deserved and warranted, and takes it with a grin on his face and an apology on his lips for being such a shithead loser. Yippee. What a great show. Â

THIS!!!
I donât have much to say after having seen episode 3.
Loki only reminds me of Loki is when he is not talking. And preferably not moving. When I watch him, I feel nothing, literally nothing.
When Sylvie said âYou are not a serious man. You are a clownâ, I wanted to hug her. Very on point description.Â
Strangely enough, Sylvie somehow reminds me of Loki more than Loki himself does.
The mocking is a nice touch

Watched the new trailer. Why is Tom overacting so much? Makes Loki look like a caricature.
Does it ever occur to you out of the blue how bad your condition has gotten? Like youâre just sipping coffee thinking about breakfast and then you realize that just a couple years ago you could do so many more things. You realize that youâve acclimated so well to this life that you canât even imagine how it was before.
My newest work. I felt like I hadnât done a really proper painting of Loki (itâs just been a bunch of rough pieces) so I was happy to complete this today.
Me watching the first half of the official clip: Thatâs Loki. Me watching the second half: Thatâs Tom.
