I hate how nowadays Sonic's background citizens then to be just mobians.
Previously in games it was humans, and it did not felt weird because 90% of the Main cast was mobians, now it feels like humans are a species in extiction, the mobian background designs are so fucking lazy and lame, and I keep forgetting that Shadow's lore has many humans in it because in the games it doesnt Even feel like the characters are aware of the existence of humans.
Ian Flynn and the Sega Team would rather use racist imaginary(segregation of species between humans and mobians) than to mix them in the background. It also takes away from Sonic's worldbuilding, because it feels like they refuse to aknowledge the humans, tell me why the only thing we saw from Soleanna in the comics was a mobian?, not the princess, not the ladies-in-waiting, the priests or literaly THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF HUMANS THAT WAS PART OF THE KINGDOM.
