Roaches, rats, moldy food, flooding. The conditions at Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman have been cited by the state itself.

My fiance has been in parchman Mississippi for 17+ years.
He deals with not enough food, no water, or if there is water its brown, cold showers, if you get one, no heat, no air circulation when it's hot, and it gets HOT!!
NO rehabilitative services, the roaches and rats outnumber the men 100-1. My man has high blood pressure, he hadnt had his blood pressure medication for 5or 6 months until this Past tuesday, after all the media, and on top of that they told him his sugar test from months ago, showed high levels, diabetes runs in his family, his brother is 2 years younger and has diabetes already. He should have been notified right away. I've called them on dozens of occasions to tell at them to give him his meds, they do it, then dont refill again till I call and complain.
Hes dealing with all the same things the others are dealing with. Corruption, disregard,
Horrific living conditions, and trays of food that would amount to a snack for a toddler. They have cut off commissary, so they can't even supplement their meals. And that's another issue, the prices of commissary is off the charts. Please let us know if you can help...
Thank you.....

7 Quick Tips for Changing a Negative Mood
1. Change your environment, or leave the room.
2. Switch your thinking, or redirect your thoughts
3. Go outside and get some exercise
4. Listen to the music which usually lifts your mood
5. Look at the old photographs which always make you laugh
6. Text or call a friend who’s really going through tough times
7. Be nice to a stranger – play it forward – and be kind.
one of the most important things i’ve learned in therapy is that when you’ve experienced prolonged trauma in your childhood, pleasure feels uncomfortable. like, not that you don’t feel it, but that when you do feel it there’s an impulse to make it stop, because it’s extremely unfamiliar. and pleasure can mean many things, as simple as feeling cozy, and as complex as feeling loved. the neural pathways for feeling good have not had a chance to develop, and the neural pathways for feeling bad are quite practiced. feeling good, too, takes conscious practice.

“Sometimes people try to destroy you, precisely because they recognize your power — not because they don’t see it, but because they see it and they don’t want it to exist.”
