Am i the only one who thinks Garp isn't abusive towards Luffy?

The whole thing with Garp hitting Luffy is always played as a gag, i mean compare Garp hitting Luffy to the Vinsmoke siblings beating Sanji. It's portrayed very differently because One piece uses slapstick humor all the time (mostly with Nami) so when there's abuse being shown the tone of the scene is drasticly different then when Nami beats the crew or when Garp hits Luffy.

Obviously Garp's behavior would NOT be okay irl but neither would Nami's, so if Garp's an abuser isn't Nami one too?

I mean Luffy clearly cares about Garp, if you don't want to see it in the actual story its in the color spread 😭

Small Edit! I forgot to mention how Zeff does the exact same thing but nobody is calling him an abuser becauss they like him more😭

I just wish we could dislike characters without changing the nerative around them😭

Ngl while the random racists throwing anti black slurs at Charitha Chandran is inexcusable the actors coming out with statements seem like a carefully curated PR strategy to distract from the ACTUAL issue of Vivi not being played by a middle eastern actress & the very real pattern of South Asians being conflated for Mena actors. Vivi is NOT supposed to be south Asian, never has!
