Rosinante had been sauntering aimlessly through the streets. Not especially attentive towards the townsfolk and tourists in the street, but still looking for anything to distract him from his dreary existence.

Life had always dealt him ineptitude in spades, and apparently death as well, it seemed. In a rousing performance of gracelessness, his legs became entangled in each other as they so often had, and down he went like a sack of potatoes.

Angry shouts and befuddled stares trailed the young captain as he tore down the street at mach speed, successfully pulling off another eat-and-run. Grin embedded proudly across his face, Luffy sped down the path that would grant him a full escape, darting between the small crowds of surprised-looking townspeople before he made the decision to round the next corner.

"--Whoa!" Almost immediately, however, he was forced into an abrupt halt, heels grinding into the stone pavement. Having just barely avoided the collision, Luffy directed his stare down at the obstacle in question, puzzlement encroaching on his features. He really should have just ignored the situation and stepped around--and the notion did cross his mind briefly--but curiosity overtook any intention of simply heading on his way. "Oi..that's a bad place to take a nap, y'know- I almost hit you!"

It was only after several extended moments of gaping at the figure before him that the pirate captain finally spoke up, eyes aglow. "YOUR COSTUME IS SO COOL~!!" He gave the turtle's shell a few pokes, curiosity overpowering any sense of personal space. "Wow, it's really realistic, too! Hey- you think I could borrow it??"

The turtle was taken back by the raven haired males awe and a bit shocked to how the boy simply appeared out of thin air. Fingers jabbed at his shoulders and plastron before a hand reached up and swatted the pale digits away.

He gave the stranger a scowl. “Okay first off—not a costume. Hundred percent real turtle here. Second and a final important question—who the shell shock are you?!”

"NO WAY, FOR REAL?! Did’ja eat a devil fruit or something?" Luffy was no stranger to talking creatures, but it didn’t diminish the fact that they were still one of the coolest things around. And— come to think of it…

How would turtle taste?

"Ah-" The notion of eating the overgrown talking turtle was obstructed before he could act on it. " I’m Luffy," his expression relaxed, save for the broad grin that dominated his profile, "The guy who’s gonna be the pirate king."

Samara boops Luffy on the nose with a finger; "Suuuup, future pirate king!?" she exclaims with her usual grin.

That was a voice he hadn't heard in a while.

"Sam!!"

Nevertheless, the Strawhat captain had become quite accustomed to their chance run-ins and, as always, greeted his old friend with his usual beaming smile. "Hey, this is good timing! Do you have any of those sandwiches with you?? The really good ones you make."

This was it, the chance he'd been waiting all day for. Crouching down low to the Sunny's deck, the captain glanced around the corner at his next target, water gun cradled tightly in his rubber limbs. To his knowledge, the doctor hadn't suspected anything yet. Good. He gave the plastic weapon a few final pumps and, sneakiness no longer a concern, sprang to his feet and dashed towards Law at full-throttle, haphazardly spraying the water at the elder captain.

"GOT'CHA!!"

It's been a while. I've decided to try to get this blog back up and running now that my schedule has settled a bit. Still pretty busy with life but wow, I've missed rping on here. Not sure who's still around, but I'm excited to meet some new people as well! What else do I even say uh, I'm basically going on a small one piece rp-blog following spree, and I guess it's onward from there.
