Tumblr is where my millennial heart goes to talk about everything that makes me feel, finally, when I can't passive aggressively make song lyrics my facebook status.

Finally put our dried foliage on the tree. This is my second year recognizing that my entire life of holidays were consumed with my mother's emotional wellbeing. In her effort to be embraced by others and end her idea of generational trauma, she just traumatized (some) of her children in different ways than her own mom traumatized her and called it a successful parenting job. So here's to celebrating holidays however the fuck I want.

Who's Around?

I started on Tumblr in my early 20s, as a new Mormon convert trying to navigate a new religion, community, and culture. I'm on a train headed straight for 30, and I need a space like tumblr used to be that isn't inundated with billionaires throwing tantrums, and here we are. No longer mormon, no longer religious, no longer neurotypical. So, anyways - who's around? Who's new? What's next? #TasteTheBern: Could Bernie Sanders get an ice cream flavor named after him?

Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben Cohen has clearly thought about this.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Kate Snow, Cohen revealed his idea for “Bernie’s Yearning”, which contains mint chocolate ice cream with a chocolate disk on top:

“The disk of chocolate represents the 90 percent of the wealth that’s gone to the top 10 percent over the last 10 years. … You take your spoon, you whack that big chocolate disk into a bunch of little pieces.”

2015 was a strange year for us, and for me in my personal journey of life. I spent 2015 primarily in Utah, put in some time with activism, learned how to be a better ally, made new friends, went vegan, and moved back to my home state of Texas. It was also a big year in navigating mental health struggles and learning how to navigate marriage in emotional and physical trials. I don't have any New Year's Resolutions, but I do believe in continuing to improve yourself. So here's to 365 days of whatever you are trying to do or accomplish, and may you spend this year taking care of yourself, loving yourself, and being true to the human you want to be.

isn’t it funny how we were never worried about vitamins, minerals, etc. while eating animal products? we just assumed we were alright. but then, when we switch to more nutrient dense, plant-based, vegan foods… we actually worry?? like we’re not going to be getting enough nutrients every day… when we really should have been more worried about this stuff while eating animal products.
