i agree that kids deserve and need more access to HRT earlier in life should they desire to transition but i really hate that the main argument in favor of it is "we need to have people transition earlier before PERMANENT IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE makes it so they can NEVER EVER look like their desired gender and they'll be FOREVER UGLY AND CLOCKY"

what is it with character blorboification and the trend to always in the process make them less competent and mature people than they are in the source material. like people will be like omg scunglo is so bad at feelings and communication lol theyre so pathetic they dont even know how to take care of themself. and then you look at scunglo and it's a character that has communicated their very well reflected on feelings in a perfectly fine and eloquent manner at every turn and never showed any particular lack of self awareness of their own health and needs. what's up with that
