"Married but haven't been on a single date" and "Never married but divorced anyways" are two dynamics that we frankly do not get enough of.

Peepaw needs his porch time
I took my little brother (autistic, mostly non verbal) out and he was using his voice keyboard to tell me something, and this little boy (maybe 4 or 5?) heard him and asked me "Is he a robot??" I tried to explain to him that no, he isn't a robot, he just communicates differently, but my darling brother was in the background max volume "I am robot I am robot I am robot I am robot"
My little brother insisted if I was going to post about him, he wanted a cut of the "profits". When I explained to him that Tumblr isn't monetized, and is pretty pointless, he and my older brother pointed out that he'd still be bringing me "fame and notoriety" if the post got "big". So we agreed, if the post hit 10k notes, which seemed extremely farfetched and silly at the time, I'd take my little brother out for sushi (his favorite food) and let him eat as much as he wants.
I guess God wanted the little robot to enjoy some sushi 🍣 🥲
@marian-devotee get him sushi six more times, you're at 60k notes.
It's not per 10k notes 💀 it was a one time deal, but I gave him some options for if it hits 100k 😂
FEED THE ROBOT!!!!!
THE ROBOT MUST BE FED
THE ROBOT REQUIRES NOURISHMENT
That moment when you ponder loneliness and your first impulse is to give your first officer a yearning stare, making him extremely flustered.

You asked for it. A whole post of slashy, vintage goodness. (new & improved)

Officially Published Fiction
TOS Film Novelizations
Novelizations such as Roddenberry’s The Motion Picture are all available on archive.org, a free online library where you can join a waiting list to read almost any book online. Books in the public domain may be read immediately. Five books may be borrowed at once.
Star Trek: The Motion Picture by Gene Roddenberry (See also: The Roddenberry Footnote article on FanLore)
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan by Vonda N. McIntyre
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock by Vonda N. McIntyre
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home by Vonda N. McIntyre*
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier by J.M. Dillard*
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country by J.M. Dillard
*Also available in an audio book format read by Leonard Nimoy, but unfortunately not linkable.
Officially Published Novels with Fan Connections
How many fan-written novels have been officially published and where can you read them? Here is the list according to Fanlore. Many with K/S undertones, some less subtle than others.
Star Trek: The New Voyages Volume I (1976)
Star Trek: The New Voyages Volume II (1978)
The Price of the Phoenix (1977)
The Fate of the Phoenix (1979)
The Prometheus Design (1982) Note: Follows Shatnerverse canon. See the Shatnerverse section of this post.
Black Fire (1983)
Triangle (1983)
Web of the Romulans (1983)*
Yesterday’s Son (1983)*
The Vulcan Academy Murders (1984)
Ishmael (1985)
Killing Time (1985). Fanlore: “[Killing Time is] notable for the publisher mix-up that resulted in there being two editions released, the first being much more slashy than the second.” First edition linked. See Fanlore page here.
The IDIC Epidemic (1988)
Time for Yesterday (1988)*
Strange New Worlds (1998-2000)
*Also available in an audiobook adaptation by Leonard Nimoy, possibly implying Nimoy’s endorsement.
The “Shatnerverse”
Star Trek Academy: Collision Course. Shatner’s most recent Star Trek novel. Introducing the beginnings of Kirk and Spock’s relationship, it was intended to be the first installment in a new series, but the next installment remains unpublished. (Not available to read online, but for God’s sake, get your hands on this.)
Linked below, if possible, are Shatner’s novels which take place after the events of TNG. (They do contain spoilers and may confuse you if you have not watched TNG.) Ashes is the first installment, etc.
The Ashes of Eden
The Return
Avenger
Spectre
Dark Victory
Preserver
Captain’s Peril
Captain’s Blood
Captain’s Glory
Non Fiction
Outtakes, Interviews, and Appearances
There are so many, but these are the ones that stand out in my mind.
TOS Outtakes. 6:49 is the most important thing on the internet.
“Billy Blackburn’s Rare Home Movies.” This is not the reel in its entirety, but it’s nice to have something on YT. Fun fact: Blackburn was DeForest Kelley’s stand-in.
William Shatner on The Motion Picture Full Interview. See 18:45 for the t’hy’la confrontation.
Star Trek IV Outtakes a/k/a “Get your hand off my leg”
Western Airlines Commercial promoting Star Trek IV
Leonard and De promote Star Trek IV at a convention, discuss dirty K/S zines, and wind up reading fanfiction on stage Part I Part II Part III
William Shatner on the opening scenes of Star Trek V (if you make fun of this, I will be disappointed in you)
The Bike Story
Access Hollywood Interview a/k/a “When Are You Going to Take Nude Photos of Me?” Nimoy and Shatner interview each other and flirt for some reason.
Books and Biographies
Also see this incomplete list of Star Trek fiction and non fiction across the entire franchise. If not linked, check your local library; many of these titles are available in my town. If not in your town, don’t give up. Ask your librarian if you can request a book outside of your state or region.
Star Trek Lives! (1975) by Jacqueline Lichtenberg, Sondra Marshak, and Joan Winston (a/k/a the Holy Trinity). Incredible book about the fandom’s early years. (See also: Star Trek Lives! article on FanLore)
Star Trek Lives! 2 (1976) by James Blish
I Am Not Spock (1975) by Leonard Nimoy. Insightful autobiography about Nimoy’s career up to, during, and post-Star Trek.
The Making of the Trek Conventions: Or, How to Throw a Party for 12,000 of Your Most Intimate Friends by Joan Winston (See also: Joan Winston article on FanLore)
Shatner: Where No Man…: The Authorized Biography of William Shatner (1979) by Myrna Culbreath, Sondra Marshak, (fannish authors of The Price of the Phoenix, etc.) and William Shatner himself
Star Trek Memories (1993) by William Shatner. An essential read. Many treasured anecdotes from the cast and crew.
Star Trek Movie Memories (1993) by William Shatner
I Am Spock (1995) by Leonard Nimoy. The updated version of I Am Not Spock. Expands on the information in the first autobiography with an emotionally experienced perspective. Also available in an audiobook adaptation read by Nimoy.
Boldly Writing: A Trekker Fan and Zine History, 1967-1987 (1996) by Joan Marie Verba
Get a Life! (1999) by William Shatner. See documentary of same name.
Up Till Now (2008) by William Shatner. Shatner’s very moving autobiography.
Shatner Rules (2011) by William Shatner, in which he briefly touches on K/S.
Leonard: My Fifty Year Friendship with a Remarkable Man (2016) by William Shatner. Repetitive if you’ve read these other biographies, but Bill’s heart is broken and you need to read this book.
Documentaries and Specials
To view the full list of Star Trek documentaries across the Star Trek franchise, click here.
Leonard Nimoy: Star Trek Memories (1983). Familiar anecdotes. A good option if you’re too busy to read I Am Spock.
William Shatner’s Star Trek Memories (1995). Includes interviews from TOS cast and crew members and video clips. Great to watch, but highly recommend the much richer and expansive book Star Trek Memories by William Shatner.
MIND MELD Secrets Behind the Voyage of a Lifetime (2001). Heart-to-heart with Bill and Leonard. Let this be the one you watch.
The Captains (2011). Bill interviews every star ship captain in the franchise, including Chris Pine, and gets sentimental, making peace with Kirk by the end.
Get a Life! (2012). The title is a reference to Shatner’s SNL skit in which he once mocked Star Trek fans. He spends this documentary exploring and appreciating the fandom.
For the Love of Spock (2016). Documentary by Nimoy’s son Adam. The tension between Adam and his father is uncomfortable but the documentary itself is insightful. K/S is also touched on.
K/S by Fans, for Fans
This is a masterpost and not a lecture (and believe me, I’ve had to keep myself on a leash), so, for reasons I’m not going to get into, photocopies of slash zines in their entirety are basically impossible to read online. Does it make me twitch, knowing there’s so many of them just rotting in people’s basements? Yes. Yes, it does.
However, individual stories are fairly easy to track down on ksarchive, ao3, and independent sites. In fact, I am working on a zine spreadsheet (or database or list or idk, it’s a mess) with links to the stories that have made it online. It is as of April 2020 incomplete (keep checking my blog description). But in the meantime…
Historically Significant ‘Zines (Timeline and Where to Read)
Spockanalia (1967-1970). FanLore: “[Spockanalia] was the very first all-Star Trek fanzine ever published, done when the series was still in its first season on NBC.” Read here: Issue I Issue II Issue III Issue IV Issue V
Grup Issue #3 (1974) contains the very first slash story ever published, and of course it is K/S. FanLore: “The point-of-view character appears to be Spock, and the story begins with someone else saying to him, ‘Shut up… we’re by no means setting a precedent.’ (A friend of mine points out the irony of that statement being the very first sentence of the very first printed K/S; this story was indeed setting a precedent that would extend through many other fandoms and affect many lives.)“ Warning: sexually explicit. Read the text here.
Alternative: The Epilog to Orion (1976) The first K/S zine. I can’t find it any of it online, but here is the article on FanLore.
The Sensuous Vulcan (1977). Contains “Desert Heat,” an early (though not the first) pon-farr-in-a-cave story that was the first to introduce the concept of Spock’s double-ridged genitalia. Warning: sexually explicit. Art of Desert Heat here. Read the story here.
Alien Brothers (1987) Although the first pon-farr-in-a-cave story ever, “The Ring of Soshern,” was written as early as 1968, it remained unpublished until the late 80′s. Warning: sexually explicit. Read here (shared from my personal dropbox).
Here is FanLore’s list (and 3500+ photocopy samples) of TOS slash zines (mostly K/S). See this article on K/S history in general. See also this list of “early, early” K/S slash.
Finding the *Ancient Stuff* on ao3
Under “Search Works,” scroll all the way down to “Sort by” and put in “Date Updated,” then sort direction by “Ascending.” Thanks to @deadpanwalking for this tip. Please do not point out that it’s common sense or that I’m an idiot lmao

completely incomprehensible joke for anyone not familiar with this video
Jim, texting Bones: Spock is stressed and driving all of us crazy please come to the bridge and say something deliberately stupid
Bones: on my way
five minutes later
Bones, striding on to the bridge: wow that nebula sure looks like cotton candy! Yessiree I bet it’d taste delicious
Spock, instantly turning around like he’s controlled by springs: Doctor, as you well know—
Entire bridge: sighs in relief
