My next film has a brand new teaser!

“No Way to Say Goodbye” is a feature-length documentary in development by Bulgarian filmmaker, Plamena Slavcheva. It explores the reality she came to face following the death of her father, Nikolay Slavchev Dimitrov (1960-2017). By telling her family's story, Plamena attempts to shine a light on the injustices in both the legal and healthcare systems in Bulgaria.

My little film ‘A Heart in Nature’ has started travelling the universe.

It already screened at the Antenna International Documentary Film Festival, as well as the Festival of Democracy, organised by the University of Sydney.

In an old edition of Monocle that I had inherited from a friend, I read a fascinating article about a place called Sarawak - one of the two Malaysian states on the island of Borneo. It’s quite rare these days to discover places the old-fashioned way – on a piece of paper. But when you do, it feels magical. This is how I learned about a small indigenous village in the middle of nowhere, called Kampong Sadir. A place where phrase like wifi connection becomes meaningless. Right there, up on a hill, I met Saloma and her family, whose cosy tree house home became my own for a few days. I welcomed the slowed pace of life and evading domination by the clock, if but briefly. All that mattered was absorbing the Bidayuh culture, swimming in waterfalls and rivers, walking in the jungle and collecting herbs and leaves I had never imagined would taste so good!
