pitt fans who hype those tiktok vids featuring pb are just icky. the way ya’ll baby that almost 40 man is just ew… and most of them are kingdon shippers lol

Actually, no. Most Kingdon shippers are actively ignoring those videos because they’re just too cringe to handle. We want Patrick to get that Emmy nomination, but he’s sabotaging himself. Between his repetitive interviews, the transparent PR push for his girlfriend, and this cringey content, he’s doing more harm than good. He should be taking his career seriously in the areas that actually count, rather than lashing out at fans who value his onscreen chemistry with his co-star, which is, quite frankly, essential to his character. Most of us are "choosing" Taylor as our clients (lol) for the Emmy at this point. As for the people 'liking' those videos? They're clearly just playing nice with his girlfriend, hoping it earns them some proximity to him.

As someone who works in fashion and PR, I think it's very interesting that none of the Pitt cast were invited to the Met and it also says a lot about how the Pitt as a show is viewed by people in these circles. Everyone talks about how it's prestige TV because it's on HBO, but it's really not. Look at the actors of hot new shows who were at the Met: the HR guys, and the actors from Love Story. Not the Pitt. And unlike the actors of those two shows I mentioned, none of the Pitt actors have landed any kind of brand deal.

Yes, The Pitt cast not being there means they’re not exactly fashion world darlings, because the Met is very much about Vogue/fashion/cultural relevance, not just about which shows are popular.

But the comparison to hot young shows is not really apt? Fashion brands love young, sexy casts with strong Gen Z/social media heat, romance and fandom buzz, and a clear style identity. The Pitt is a realist medical drama about tired hospital staff in scrubs without makeup, led by a middle aged man, with everyone styled for medical procedures and fluorescent lighting. They don’t fit the fashion ecosystem the Met is curating. But in the end, winning all the awards is a far better measure of tv prestige than whether Vogue wanted them on a themed carpet anyway.

So sure, it says something about the cast’s fashion marketability, but it’s not exactly a grim indictment of the show’s industry prestige.

oh so Patrick can participate in a silly video on that Broadway account with his costar about him being “the view” at the edge place they went but anything to do with taylor is when he gets weird and can’t have fun! Got it!

First of all, I don't hate Robby, I just think he's a bad character. He was actually in my top three before season 2 started, but by the end, after considering everything I knew about him, I realized how poorly his story was told. That's all. And it's disappointing because I thought this show had at least four more seasons before it started to decline, but oh well, that's life.

Being disappointed is totally fine. Nobody has to like S2, or Robby, or the way his story was written.

It’s just hard to have an actual conversation about this when, based on your asks, you keep collapsing everyone’s storylines into whether or not they involve Robby, and at the same time insisting other characters had no arcs of their own. But when people bring up the actual storylines you said were not there, or ask you to clarify what you mean, the goalposts either suddenly move, or your reply turns into something barely related to the original point.

So at this point, I get it - you think the show is badly written, fair enough. But if you keep coming back to argue while not really engaging with what people are actually saying, then what’s the goal here?

i like pball even though he's very millennial cringe sometimes, but i think he's a very weak actor. some of his line readings and facial expressions are just bad. i don't like noah, but he's a good example of a good actor who acts a lot with his eyes and micro expressions, something pball hasn't mastered. in that break room scene with mel it looked like he was trying to hold in a fart, and in the scene with santos he just looked bewildered which is not the emotion i think he was trying to get across.

i also saw becky shaw and wasn't very impressed. the rest of the cast were much better.

idk i just think there's a reason it took 20 years for him to find success. i think some people are blinded by the fact that he's a white attractive man they want to fuck.

Everyone talks about how it's prestige TV because it's on HBO, but it's really not. Look at the actors of hot new shows who were at the Met: the HR guys, and the actors from Love Story. Not the Pitt. And unlike the actors of those two shows I mentioned, none of the Pitt actors have landed any kind of brand deal.

Even Supriya, who is young and absolutely stunning, has failed to land an invite and she has no brands lining up to sign her either.

The Pitt is no where near the sensation that Heated Rivalry was, no where near. Part of the attention on Love Story and it's actors was because of who the story was about and 90s nostalgia, not necessarily the quality of the show.

The show had the ability to be prestige TV if it was as tight as the first season, but it wasn't.

Except for Noah and maybe Katherine, no one from the cast was going to get an invite to the Met Gala, depsite what fans may think. They aren't well known enough or even niche popular enough.

You can tell some mohabbots are pissed Sepideh isn't white, because then they could do the "they're replacing mohabbot with a white/white romance, that's racist!!" so now they're bending over backwards instead trying to say that it's racist to replace Samira with another WOC love interest ... where is the logic in that?

I feel bad for Supriya and Sepideh for having to deal with braindead fans who only see them as self-inserts for the white men they're thirsting after.

sue me for being too lazy to google this, but ive seen a lot of people saying that such n such will cost pball the emmy. Are emmys dependent on the actors social standing??? I thought it was just for their performance in the show?

The actors even confirmed that they were flirting.  *** When Shawn and Supriya say Abbot was flirting with Mohan = not canon, he's just saying shit When Shawn or Sepi say Abbot was flirting with Al-Hashimi = canon Lmao I need to pick some of your guys' brains.

to my knowledge Supriya always said Samira was not even noticing the flirting, even if Abbot was trying? so I'd think that's different to Sepideh and SH acknowledging a mutual flirtation between their characters

Mohan’s story was tied to Robby’s in a big way for sure, but when she apologised, it was for something she actually did wrong: she dropped the ball while mentoring, and a patient died as a direct consequence. Oh yeah, because Robby's always going to be right. When is Robby going to start suffering consequences for treating everyone like shit? I wouldn't hate Robby so much if they showed me a realistic portrayal of a depressed person on the verge of suicide. Look, I'm the biggest apologist for shitty characters. For shitty men. BoJack, Michael Scott, Roman Roy. all bad men I identify with a lot, but they're all well-written, they all have depth. We don't even know why Robby suffers so much. Because of his job? Surprise! Abbott seems like a better example of what that job causes, and he'd be a better protagonist, no doubt. It's not that I think Robby's a monster, it's that I think he's a bad character.

That’s a lot of argument hopping…. So Mohan apologising for a mistake that killed a patient somehow means Robby is always right? And Robby needs to face consequences for his behaviour before Mohan can acknowledge her own medical mistake? Like… what are you even replying to here? This is just a ramble about Robby being a bad character

And actually we DO know at a lot about why Robby suffers: trauma from being a HCW during COVID, the death of his mentor, who he had to take off life support himself, plus burnout from work and compassion fatigue. No offense but if you missed all of that, the issue is maybe not that Robby is badly written, but that you’re not paying attention to his story?

More and more people might watch it with each season, but that doesn't change the fact that there were no bad reviews for season 1, but there were for season 2. What does that tell you about the future?

Season 2’s IMDb average is 8.6 compared to season 1’s 8.7, so we’re not exactly looking at "bad" reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes Season 2 has a 98% critic score, 85% audience score, with a critics’ consensus calling it “near perfect”...

So if going forward we can expect barely any change in ratings, continued critical acclaim, and viewership growing by 50% every season, then what that tells me is that the future looks pretty bright actually! I hope the show can keep this momentum and even claws back that extra little bit of season 1 perfection.

I'm new to the show, and mohabbot shippers are so loud and obnoxious I thought for sure they'd be leading the het fic race, but it turns out they have 700 fewer fics than langdonmel. Good for y'all!

I think the Pitt has reached its popularity peak and the actors will fade into obscurity pretty quickly unless they're smart about it. The HR guys have been very smart about it, and so has Sarah Pidgeon, just to name a few.
