After six months of depression and anxiety, I bring TS2 CC!

I was decorating a café and wanted some deco food for it, so I decided to convert some of TS4 pastries.

They're a bit low poly/low res but personally I think they look okay unless you really zoom in on free cam mode.

They're all on Appliances > Misc cause it's where I categorize my deco food. Pictures of all recolors under the cut :)

Credits: The ribbon thingy in the thumb image is designed by starline/Freepik and I used some of budgie2budgie extracted deco food (instead of extracting myself) cause I don't have the TS4 EPs installed anymore.

Have I ever mentioned that I'm really stubborn? Well I'm mentioning now...

I've been playing Stardew Valley again after not playing the game since it updated to 1.6

And with this new save I added some rival hearts mods cause I like the town evolving with me. And then I thought "It would be really nice if after a certain event these NPCs got a few more lines of dialogue and changed their schedules... I bet I could try to do that".

Mind you the most complicated things I've done is edit some mods and follow some guides for SimPE (in sims 2 and 3), a few xml edits for a few games here and there...

And then instead of reading a guide/tutorial on HOW TO CODE IN JSON FORMAT. I decided it was a great idea to essentially reverse engineer it comparing what I was doing with a mod that does something similar, plus the help of the SDV Wiki.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING I'M A HUMANITIES GAL. The tech savvy things I learned are all thanks to watching my dad (who works on IT hardware) growing up.

Welp, I'm testing the mess I made in a test save rn 😬

If you want something similar to what I described without all the work, go check Star Crossed on Nexus. The mod adds a bunch of pairings and it's VERY complete for the ones that it adds.

It worked... ish. I had to change a lot of things and abandon some things I wanted to do (because there were errors i didn't know how to fix after a lot of trying)

But I'm happy with what I managed to do.

Now I'm back to farming :)

I’ve been seeing a lotta people actively getting these games confused, and idk if it’s bc a lotta ppl just immediately think of The Sims 4 when they think of The Sims and/or simblr, or we all just edit alike or use the same 3rd party shaders, but yeah, I thought I’d make a poll to hopefully remind people that simblr isn’t just The Sims 4, lol.

I don't even play TS4 anymore but I'll put my opinion here:

The marketplace is a tactic to exploit CC creators by paying them little instead of dedicating time and money to an EA team that could improve the game with bug fixes and new content.

EA doesn't invest on things that won't get them instant profit.

A reminder that userProps.xml, which you can find in your Documents/EA games/The Sims 2/Config/ folder, can get corrupted somehow... And it will cause all sorts of weird issues in the game.

Last week I started getting crashes whenever my Sims were going on vacation, or trying to visit sub-hoods. Sometimes the hood would load and then the game freezed, sometimes the hood selection screen (!) would be loaded instead (followed by a crash ofc). A twist - it only happened when I had Reshade turned on.

The culprit: userProps.xml file. Not so long ago I talked to @toki-code-04 about the weird issue they had with sim shadows chopped off at the ankles (they don't use Reshade), and they solved it by replacing this particular file. So I deleted it, and it worked /if you do that, you need to configure the game settings again/.

Lol, I'm building a new medieval neighborhood and playing with reshade :)

I've finally opened my medieval save from ts2 after a loooong time. Since then I've played a lot of medieval games and i find quite endearing that now i recognize where the cc meshes/names came from, i look at something and go "oh that's from Skyrim/Dragon Age etc".

Same thing with sci-fi cc, a lot of names from games in there, they're not a bunch o weird names now, i recognize them!!

I've had some down time and started the first few hours of mass effect 2 and wow...i had to sit down and think for a few minutes

Hmmm spoilers ahead for a 2010s game?

Seeing that quarantine area in Omega already made me uneasy, especially after COVID. I won't go on much details about it, but the way my country handled led to a lot people dying because there wasn't enough supply of oxygen being produced (by negligence).

After hearing the logs and talking to the batarian alien and figuring out that the plague is essentially a flu like disease and that's why it doesn't affect humans (because our immune system is used to fighting off these things) is just so... heartbreaking... because it's a parallel? a metaphor? idk what word describes the best?

We did this willing to other cultures and people. WE DO THIS TO THIS DAY

I've finished the campaign of the first Mass Effect after a bit more than 20 hours i think? I'm planning to play the trilogy so there are 2 more to go!

I think there is something very interesting to say about how even though the Council is only composed of aliens all of them politely going "lalalalala can't hear you" when Shepard insists the problem is much bigger than just a fellow Specter going rogue. There's something very human about this behavior, i even think one of the characters says this lol.

But honestly, this game is from 2007 (almost 20 years ago ouch) and i think this moment is still so relevant. We have all seen politicians in our own countries or in the world do this stuff when confronted about serious topics.

Anyways play Mass Effect, i thought i would do a bunch of shooting as a Specter but i think i did more politics and diplomacy. Not that you won't do shooting but your shooting will be surrounded by a bunch of diplomacy and politics.
