While I’m excited for all the new stuff, I really hope 5.10 has some Lana and Theron content (especially if it refers to their recent engagements if romanced) even if just in the form of a letter. 

I want new characters, but I’m not ready to move on from my babes.

Hopefully they learned from the companion fiasco of KotFE & KotET and won’t just drop the old for the new again. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think I would appreciate the new important characters in 5.10 and beyond to stay just that. Not every new face needs to become a companion.

I want to see how the vanilla companions with strong faction leanings react to the upcoming return to Republic vs Sith Empire story. We saw a taste of that with how Quinn and Dorne reacted during the Iokath story. Will Jorgan stick with a Sith that wants to wholly support the Sith Empire again?

I want to see more character development for Arcann. Will he ever have a falling out with a player that consistently chooses dark side options? Would they ever let influence alter the outcome of such a situation? Perhaps a dark sider with high influence could convince him to embrace his anger again, while he would simply leave or even confront a dark sider with low influence.

Arcann’s companion gift preferences are a direct copy of Quinn’s (as are Shae’s, for that matter). I’m not sure if I agree with Imperial Memorabilia being a love, as I’m not convinced that he would want to further explore his father’s legacy.

Not to mention one of the common methods for getting a companion to 50 influence would essentially play out as, “Here are a few hundred accounts of the discovery of the planet you lost your arm and burned half of your face on. You couldn’t possibly have any lingering trauma or negative feelings about that place, right? Enjoy! Maybe I’ll follow those up with a declaration of the Emperor’s your father’s will for good measure.” “This is amazing.” Sure. I’m not buying it. Maybe a more personalized gift list would look something like this?

Like: Maintenance (for his arm), Trophy Favorite: Courting (if romanced), Delicacy, Technology Love: Luxury, Weapon

What a time to return to SWTOR (and tumblr, for that matter). I haven’t played since shortly after the launch of KotET, so I’m quite overwhelmed and pleasantly surprised, especially by the following:

- Arcann romance (I didn’t even know I wanted this, but now I hope it continues to develop in 6.0 and beyond. It already has potential to be my favorite SWTOR romance.) - Manaan stronghold - Multiple QoL improvements (especially with conquests) - New romances and SGR with old companions going forward (5.10 datamining shows the start of a Khem Val romance. If he gets one, Scourge needs one. I know there are tons of people hoping for it!) - Lastly, the cartel market seems to be more focused on direct sales than gamble packs now

Your choices do matter.

Valkorion cheated me out of a romance scene... (major spoilers below cut)

In chapter 8, right after the fight with Arcann, there’s a scene where you can kiss either Koth or Lana if you’ve been flirting with one of them, but it appears to be tied to choosing the light side option to refuse Valkorion’s power. However, just choosing the option might not be enough.

Problem is, I’m not entirely sure yet which choice this is a result of. Here’s the chain of events leading up to it:

- Chose to Kneel* - Was honest to Lana about Valkorion - Used power to “save” Lana* - Was warned by Lana that “the power comes as a cost” - Refused power when fighting Heskal - Refused power when fighting Arcann (but was denied) - Got the “dark side” scene, where Lana says “What have you become?” No kiss scene. - Was still able to lock in the Lana romance in the cantina scene

I guess I’ll just have to have another character romance Lana... for science! ;D
