Touring Estelle’s 70′s tastic, colorful home. Estelle is a life-long thrifter of vintage, but has recently honed her skills on one decade.
The lounge. She started collecting bit from car boot sales and charity shops and second hand stores.
About her current style, Estelle says, “I used to be more fluid in collecting, picking up anything that caught my eye, like a retro magpie, I mixed everything from deco to 80s. I’ve probably become more purist these days.”
She started dabbling with super graphics based on original artwork about 15 years ago in my bathroom in my flat.
In this home she decided about four years ago to add some detail to bare walls and started with the kitchen and added to it over the years.
Estelle says it’s just paint, if you hate it, you can just paint over it, there’s not the commitment to it and it can be achieved on a budget with tester pots.
Spare bedroom. Asked where she finds things, she says mostly car boot sales, ebay and facebook market place, She’s also got some pieces from online vintage boutiques.
Master. Fabulous is her main criteria. Sometimes she has something very specific in mind, but mostly she stumbles on things when she’s not even looking for them, like her space age bed.
Really, her home looks like walking into a time capsule.
And, this was her lockdown project. She completely tore out the bathroom and redid it b/c it was dated. Where do even find fixtures in those colors?
