What i dislike always in a fandom. Usually its the female side of it is that they almost always read a character like billy butcher from the boys like a dominant daddy who calls you good girl, doll, Pet, kitten and babygirl and its grumpy x sunshine, and think he is a shady cold mysterious man who needs a 4'2ft twenty year old petite doe eyed girl who doesn't even know what sex is to fix him.
YOU ARE NOT A REHABILITATION CENTER, that man has trauma he was abused his whole life, his brother is DEAD, so is his wife who also disappeared for eight years after being sa'd by homelander he is not the mafia boss with a soft spot for u.
He has emotions, he is self destructive, obsessive vendetta and he feels guilt, anger in an overwhelming way . He doesn't have a healthy coping mechanism to deal with the generational trauma and overall just all the bad things in his life he only expresses it through violence and rage, he has no emotional regulation, he is actively suffering and not even the freaking becca butcher, his wife and hughie could stop him, he uses the people he cares the most about as pawns, he puts not just him but everyone in a constant state of danger.
That trope is also tiring, i always see it with characters like leon kennedy, call of duty characters like ghost joel miller, thomas shelby, daemon targaryen, coriolanus snow and simply any male character from the game of thrones universe. It's internalized mysoginy because men also feel
I hate how women reduce us to being a freaking tool to fix someone besides romantizing the power imbalance and clear abuse in some tropes like age gap where the male character is a teacher or your dad's bestfriend while you are barely legal because I HAVEE NEVERRR SEEN a female reader who is older than 18-25 because let's be honest no 30 year old woman with boundaries, experience and emotional maturity will put up with a 50 year old man with ptsd to be a sponge to absorbe all his trauma until he is magically fixed
