The PT fandom generally has an issue that all fandoms fall into. Parasocially defending folks who create content they like and demonizing those who set basic boundaries. My exposure to the fandom has been minimal on the community end, I tend to engage with fanart I like and that’s it. I notice a lot of confessions that lament how things have been ‘ruined’ for them by specific people, or how things ‘need to be hashed out in private instead of public’. My issue is that these mindsets tend to lack nuance.

I’ve been a bystander to many situations that I’ve seen from fandom to fandom, People not properly tagging their NSFW art, people being dismissive of fetishmining, people being critical of ableism being framed as harassers due to bad actors… I don’t think people in this community truly ‘hate drama’ when they keep talking about it. Forget the names of people you dislike and move on if you truly see the other side as ‘drama obsessed’. I’ve followed this game’s development since 2019, seen the good, bad, and ugly.

Hypocrisy and trying to frame every person who brings up concerns and boundaries as an obsessive ‘drama llama’ ruins fandom, not just this one. Block and mute people if you dislike them that much and be the ‘better person’ by not continuing to talk about them in a disparaging manner, that’s a lovely way to curate your space in any fandom or online space as a whole. Yeesh.
