The Maria VS The Emerald Kraken
Soul Snatcher and Knuckles The Dread were partners far back. Through thick and thin, they always had each other. But both, at the same time, had their flaws; Dread was overcome with greed and Snatcher's a sea monster in disguise as a pirate. Conflict tore, both saw their true selves and forever parted, sworn to be mortal enemies. They then took their own paths but even then, their own issues interefere with their job as leaders.
Tangle and Lanolin worked as a duo. Both sought for adventure and riches, especially Lanolin given how hard working she can be. However, Tangle remains dilly-dallying as she grew a strong connection with a mermaid, Jewel. It took a while for Tangle to confess what she had been doing to her leader and though Lanolin was angry, she supposed Jewel could make it as a member of the team.
On Whisper's end, she's a siren who had her friends get killed from another named Mimic. She hated her own kind and her own self. So she swam away from her own home and disguised herself as a human. During The Haunted Spear's voyage to Scrapnik Island, they encountered Whisper. And as Tangle always does, she recruits her to Diamond Cutter, and it's always hard to turn down that attitude.
Shared Fate, Opposite Sides
Shadow and Whisper have an encounter at one point for two reasons. One, they both have their secret species to hide. Two, every separate ship are considered enemies. During the night against The Maria and The Haunted Spear, Shadow and Whisper sense their true identities, followed by a secret and short comversation between them afterwards.
"We share the same blood, the same dread we carry day and night. But alas, we are not the same. Farewell, enemy of mine."
Scrapnik Eggbeard was owner of his ship, The Egg, and feared by many because of his ability to create what he calls "badniks" out of scraps. He didn't need to recruit anybody because he could make his own, and that's what people were haunted by the most. However though, he had two members alongside him. Two gunners; Neo (Metal Sonic) and Rusty (Mecha Sonic). Eggbeard even conquered an island, which he named after himself, Scrapnik Island. Due to his own greed and talent, he abandoned Neo and Rusty. However it clearly backfired as he had sunken with his ship, nowhere to be seen again and now told as an urban legend because of his conquest. Neo and Rusty had swam back to Scrapnik Island (though in different parts of it so they don't actually know they were together) and survived through tough conditions for years. That is until The Maria picked up Rusty and The Emerald Kraken picked up Neo. Soon they will meet each other again with millions of questions.
