Wild that this was posted at the date and time that I just so happened to scroll past this on my dash, because this is from the house I used to live in!
A second bedroom had been added onto the house many years after it was first built, and whoever did it did a pretty shit job, because things would grow up in the crack between the two sections of flooring.
My husband and I thought this was so ridiculous that we let that thing grow for weeks before we finally decided it probably needed to go. Somehow, this was not even close to the weirdest or most disconcerting thing about this house.
-prickly lettuce (Lactua serriola)
Being perfectly honest, I didn’t vote for C. Nootkanensis because I literally did not know it existed until your post (I should add I’m not from the PNW, I just Love plants) but seeing how the poll is going, I wish I’d have put my vote in for it now ;-;
ha it's not common, or at least not in the lower 48! I didn't vote for it either but it is a pretty cool looking tree, and one that deserves more love :)
