My gameplay of the Hello Neighbor 3 Pre-Alpha is available now!!
It was either yesterday or the day before that I found (official) free download links to three outdated builds of Totally Accurate Battle Simulator and cleared the campaign of one of them to unlock a faction it used against me.
Those being Pre-Alpha 0.2.0 (where there were a total of twenty-one units you could purchase, none had yet been removed, and the original map had been replaced by four different ones), the Open Alpha (which let you see your enemies and their formations before fighting them, let you see where on the map you were placing your units, and remembered where your units were placed if you cut the battle short, lost in the campaign, or either side won in the Sandbox; since it was 2016, units based on Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, who respectively threw GMail icons like ninja stars and held two inaccurate M16s and could summon a wall that could fall down in front of where it was placed, were added, though they were never intended to be in the full release), and the Closed Alpha (which added a Neon faction based on science fiction that you could only use after clearing the campaign even though it used the faction against you, as well as a pyramid in the Sahara desert map with an opening on top that summoned a plague to attack both teams should any unit fall in).
I had to draw a person from the picture, I found out that this person is called Taxer Peterson, it was a prototype of Aaron Peterson from Pre-Alpha from the first version of HN, I thought that the person in the photo was Daniel or David and I thought Theodore was gay as I found out I was also surprised to find out that this character is removed.

This game is worse than a drug!
“pre-alpha” what the hell does that mean? “yeah welcome to pre-alpha help us with some of the game animation and tell us when it works”
It suddenly feels REAL! <3<3
So we’ve recently made some huge progress here at Hot Hooves Gaming, regarding the MLP Visual Novel Project, Code Named: Crystal Crisis Equestria.
Remember that proof of concept that I keep bringing up? Well, I have finally started putting it together in the form of a Prologue to the visual novel that focuses on Twilight as the main character. Through this is a (relatively) short playthrough, I’ll be showing the mechanics that will be going into the game.
Music and sound design may take a little longer to get down - moreso, the sound effects because of the sheer volume of different sound effects that could be added to make a scene feel more lively. Not too sure if voice acting will be incorporated either, but that’s not really the main idea of this pre-alpha demo. It’s more to be able to show you some of the art, the writing style, and the way it will all be presented.
I’m already excited to see these little snippets of story being put together in a cohesive way, and the background music gets me pumped up every time!
Plans and stuff (updated)
I don’t know if you noticed, but the year just (give or take a week) changed. So it’s the perfect time to revise the long-term plan for Loot Snake.
Note that the Alpha and Beta sections are going to be split into smaller updates. (Alpha 1.0, Alpha 1.1, etc)
Pre-Alpha 0.3.0
The version that’s currently being worked on. The main focus points are the complete art and powerup refresh.
Pre-Alpha 0.4.0
More sound effects, music, ambiance, stuff like that. After this version gets released I’ll start contacting YouTubers and other content creators that might be interested in the game.
Pre-Alpha 0.5.0
More stuff for the rooms. (Traps, decorations, new enemies, etc.)
Pre-Alpha 0.6.0
Environmental effects. Fire spreads on grass, water can be poisoned / frozen, stuff like that. (This might also come in an earlier update, or be pushed to the Alpha version of the game.)
Alpha
Shops, pets, procedural maps. Add easier map sharing to the list as well.
This version will most likely have a price tag on it. And if it does, it’ll be somewhere around $1 - $2. People who played the pre-alpha will get this version for free.
Beta
New game modes, content, and polish. Small price increase. People who have played the pre-alpha, or the alpha can play this version for free.
Release (Gold)
A story driven campaign. Lots of more content.
The game will be released on Steam and get the final price tag. Between $5 - $10. People who have played pre-alpha, alpha or beta versions of the game will get this version for free + a Steam key. (If you got the game in pre-alpha, you have to have donated some amount of money to get the Steam key. This is a restriction put in place by itch.io.)
So that’s the revised plans. Not much has changed, but it’s still good to do these update posts to make sure that there’s at least some sort of long term plan. There’s probably going to be other small changes made to this in the future as well.
