at my old job i had a coworker who was tired and made a coffee with like 6 or 8 shots of espresso and i just casually went up to them like “are you trying to meet god?” and not only was this absolutely hilarious to them but they brought it up in future conversations they thought it was so funny but to me this was just as casual as saying “woah that’s a lot of coffee”

Shonen authors writing a hetero romance: They bicker... But... They KISS?!?!?! Revolutionary.

Shonen authors writing two male "best friends": They are friends, partners, family. They complete each-other. They've been together for so long it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins, and they know each-other so intimately that they can predict every action the other will take. They're opposites and yet they go together like a pair of gloves, they're yin and yang, they fill each-other's weaknesses and boost each-other's strength. They wouldn't be alive without one another, they wouldn't want to be alive without one another. Even when they're on different paths, they trust each-other blindly. Even as enemies they are willing to put their lives in each-other's hands. Their life goals involve one-another, all the roads in their life lead to their partner. A part of one will always be with the other, no matter how far apart the fates carry them.

Not trying to hate on c*leo because I did used to ship it, but as I grow older it sinks in that they truly dont work as a romantic relationship in the text. Im not even convinced they'd be friends.

I do however very much love the concept of Leo coming back for her because he gets it. He gets being the second option or no option at all. They bond on that level to the point where Leo decides he can't possibly leave her alone on that island- because it would be like abandoning himself.

I just think that'd make such a stronger narrative for both characters.

That you can have value without romantic love; that someone can come back for you, not because they're in love with you, but because you deserve to be saved.

'calypso should've joined the hunters' is one of the worst pjo takes ever and it really shows how little her character is seen aside from being leo's girlfriend. calypso has been cursed by the gods to an eternal loneliness, however from time to time gods would send people for her to fall in love with, just to make them leave her in the end. all this to make fun of her, to torment her, for the sole reason of siding with her father. she suffers like this for 3000+ years, finally she gets to be free just to be ripped off from her powers & immortality, which she never got from the island in the first place, right away. she resents the gods more than you guys can imagine and to think that she would willingly make herself one of their servants for hunting and fighting after all these years just beacuse you guys can't imagine a female character being single meanwhile being sentimental and not hating boys is a prime example of how most female characters aren't seen as 'character-worthy' when you take their boyfriends out of the picture. beacuse in your heads there is only option left for a female character who doesn't have/want a relationship: 'hates boys no emotions stone cold badass btch go purr'. she, or anyone else, can be single without having to swear off of it.
