The First Juneteenth
161 years ago today, the first Juneteenth was celebrated in Galveston, Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
But 161 years is such a short time.
In the face of the blatantly racist rhetoric we see in today's world, take this as an invitation to seek out Black trans creators, learn how institutional racism continues to affect people of color, and how you can stand against it!

June 12th, 2016. 2:02 AM, Latin Night. This is when the horrific attack on Pulse Nightclub occurred.
