Combination weapon of Sword and Pistol

Dated: circa 1800 (blade)

Culture: probably Spanish

Measurements: overall length 36 inches (91.44cm); blade length 30 ¼ inches (76.2cm)

The blade is from a Carlos IV era rapier, while the percussion pistol frame is marked “BALT” and has a stylized animal head hammer and an elongated trigger. The weapon as a fluted wood grips. The pommel is designed so the user can extend his hand at a degree for shooting.
