Lando did not push the team to box Oscar. He was only asking to box himself but as Oscar was out front the team argued he had priority. Even though he didn't want to box and that caused the big mistake.
The absolute disaster strategy was purely down to the dumbass Zak Brown and his papaya minion Andrea Stella. NOT THE DRIVERS
Its a two wrongs dont make a right situation, or a two rights make a wrong (depending on who you are rooting for ofc)

Mclaren didnt fuck oscar over on purpose. Did he have shit luck? Yes. They pitted oscar when LANDO wanted to pit, because if they did actually pit Lando he would be getting the undercut. So they pitted oscar. As lead driver takes first pitstop. Thats NORMAL.
CARLOS ramming into Oscar isnt a prediction. They cant then ALSO tell lando to wait AGAIN with a pitstop, just to make sure oscar ends up ahead. It would fuck Lando even more than telling him not to pit in the first place.
You cant have lando NOT pit when he wants to and NOT pit when anything happends to oscar. Thats unfair to Lando.
Oscar did get preferential treatment for most of the race. Technically. But that second pit never would have worked for him. But they had to do something and pitting lando would mean him overtaking oscar.... so this is the (baaaad) call they came up with
It sucks for Oscar, and i dont like that either, but do NOT go blaming Lando for this since he did exactly as he promised.
Oscar himself said later on it would be unreasonable.
We could have had a 1-2. Mclaren fucked up on multiple points on this race. But the car broke down and thats the only 100% thing to blame here
Guys you do know Ilia was not aware he would receive the award and did not ask for it; you also know he said just yesterday that the ISU was full of shit; and you also realise that this very public and unavoidable display of hypocrisy from the ISU made Ilia extremely ill at ease, especially because he probably couldn't care less about the award. You guys do know that right ? It's important to me that you know this
Reminds me of @pocketrocketyuki ‘s post about how it looks like Ilia was getting proposed to and he looked like he was going to say no. To me it was giving Mr Collin’s proposing to Elizabeth in Pride & Prejudice. Condescendingly, begrudgingly, out of obligation, back-handedly. I was drowning in second-hand embarrassment.

Sure dislike him all you want, i do not care, but people please DO NOT spread hatret.

Should kaori have gotten more special recognition? Absolutely. Should Ilia be hated for getting recognition for his achievements? No.

the way fstwt and fstumblr talk about ilia is like no you are the problem you are the reactionary conservative unpleasant part of figure skating culture that the ISU upholds even while it comes up with things like a fuckin trailblazer award. they don't care about skaters as human beings and when you're reflexively cruel to someone for reasons beyond their control, within a system that propagates the abuse of their talent to its own ends, you're doing precisely the same thing.

Again, the sabotage calls on oscars car are back.
Let the guy be human. Let him have "bad" weekends (which, if bad is p5 than really its not bad) without seeking a higher meaning behind it. Let him make mistakes and learn from them instead of calling him too slow.
A lot of drivers have these patches in a season, and oscars is happening after a DNF (which may have messed up the chassis, but its not visible in the data). Its normal.
It sucks, but he is fighting hard to not be seen as this emotionless, inhumane character, so give him some grace when he shows human sides.
Some of you need to realise something. If you are against anti-oscar or anyone else claims, but go ahead and still say anti-lando (or again, the other way around, anti-oscar) things, you are part of the problem.
An eye for an eye and the world goes blind. Trying to make people angry by shitting on their fave only makes people miserable, including yourself.
Its a sport, its supposed to be enjoyed. Dont let other fans take away that joy
