Escaping

Holding my breath, shutting the world, silence;

An inner world birthed; colors, shapes, faces, space; worry; doubt;

Can’t turn it off. 

Exhaling, un-shuttering, listening, sensing;  

Off.

Clouds adrift on an endless row,

the cycle of moisture to gas, gas

to moisture, and again, again.

Hello dear droplet, how'd you wander

so far? Another pass of curvature, another

day begin.

Realizations

A familiar place in your embrace, how did I find myself here again?

Clawing, scratching, pushing you away; Rejecting, punishing, fearing.

A striking realization that any victory was in vain and couldn’t heal this pain;

Of missing you, wanting you, then choosing to save you, over myself.

Gazing upward trying to see

beyond myself, this ship I'm bound.

Attached by forces, such a gravity,

Engulfing me with guilt and shame.

Whispering alone, a faint cry to be

Heard, to be held by you, to be found

By you. Was this to be our destiny?

Apart and alone, my love unclaimed.
