Lunar eclipse 🌒
a micro poem today
I was recently in Ireland- it was so indescribably beautiful and it should have inspired me to write but instead I came home with no motivation/ ideas. The worst writers block I have had since I started writing. Feel free to share whatever helps you guys get the wheels going
Basorexia
The dark has its way of levying desperation,
pushing me into a state of emergency.
Sitting on my front porch, exhausted, cold,
the night comes crawling. The moon glares
with wishful remorse of an old lover,
exposing my hunger. The bare branches
of the silver birch tremble, we are both
shaken in this blustery night.
Every ounce of me whispers then shouts
your name in unison. I inhale every discarded
kiss and overdose on your lips under the moonlight.

Because I F*cking Said So: A Poetry Anthology Collection - Kindle edition by Author Services, OTM, Morhaime, M Leigh, Thomas, Brigitte Ann,
Trying to get to heaven before they close the fucking door
I’ve been trying to be a good girl, sleeping
alone in my bed. I’ve been trying to forget
the way you devoured my woes with each
thrust. So I lay here, slashing release
in a bloody bath, a secret so bad I can’t
even tell myself.
I tried to tackle my demons but they’re just
mildly concussed, they’ll be back soon enough.
Because every time I felt good I thought
it would last forever, but it never does.
John B
You’d have to be
brilliant to fix
antique clocks right?
But they said he was
just a queer
a southern gothic
a manic depressive
obsessed with global
catastrophe.
I just think no one
really saw him.
Not even when he
made that beautiful
hedge maze.
He was just sad,
never knew what love
was- how tragic.
I hope he went back
to rewrite his story.

the grand ballet
a tip toeing dance
around the obscure
veil of the other side
no one can give you
an answer, boy
but they’ve dug up
the earth looking
for proof in the soil
afraid the old
will inherit our bones
delivering us into
our fates
we eat and drink
and buy and move
around, to pacify.
The Photographer
a sense of foreboding creeps up
my chest.
did he hear my heart stop? (I think to myself)
i tried to keep a straight face
when he stood up to undo
his belt.
the lights were blinding me
as if I was staring into the sun
he looked like some kind of god
glowing before me.
I hear the clicking sound his
camera made
when he captured me in my
night gown.
i get down on my knees
i would’ve let him
drag me around like
an animal
if it meant he would not leave
click (he takes another picture)
open your mouth (he whispers)
click, click
you’re so good at that (he says)
will you stay?

You are crumpled up like discarded pieces of paper.
Your musky smell reminds me of the woods.
Your face and your smile belong in a different era.
You could never reach me.
Not even with your peculiar laugh.
A heavy fog begins to surround us as I reach for your cold clenched hands.
We’re on snow covered mountaintops,
the blue sky synchronizes with your eyes.
There’s no where to turn, we can not lie down
and I spot your tribe, waiting in the distance.
Your eyes aim at the sky frozen and gray. I can no longer see you for the fog swallows you into a different realm and I’ve been expelled. Forbidden to enter.
