Time

It baffles me

How you don’t seem to feel time.

Not as I.

I spend my days measuring it

from the last moment I saw your smile.

The minutes, painfully ticking by.

I lay in this never ending darkness,

Riven by the days that have passed.

But it doesn’t disturb you,

It never does.

I feel this urgency overcoming me inside,

as if I could die.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, @bohemian_rao!! ♥️ ▪︎ I know it doesn't say 'birthday' anywhere in the poem (haha, winks) but papers symbolise our friendship, and I thought it would be a nice way to wish you a happy birthday using that very symbol, don't you think? Here are the events in order (because I'm that annoying list-making-type person): 1. Beginning of 8th grade - We got stuck sitting together because I was talking too much, and had to change places as punishment. We both hated making pointless notes + you used to read novels under the desk + metal music = friends! 2. End of 8th grade - We got to sit together in the final exam because I was that 'extra roll number' that had to be seated. (LOL) 3. The 9th grade - You would stand behind me during assembly, and we would sing "A Place For My Head" by Linkin Park at lunch period, out of print outs I took. 4. The 10th grade - You stayed with me in class to help me finish up math crafts (which, as usual, I was submitting late) during free period while others were having fun. . Paper, paper, paper - see? And what I consider, the highlights of our friendship. • We had so much fun in high school (I don't think I could list it all in the caption, haha), and I'm so glad to have known you as my best friend!
