What do you mean that the seating arrangement of the english classroom was basically created with Neil's death in mind??????? What do you mean Charlie and Neil's seats were decided specifically to bring attention to their emptiness during the final scene???? What do you mean!??!?!

I mean, I guess the clip talks more about the FINAL arrangement, but I guess they would have also considered the tension leading up to that scene and how the desk arrangement plays into that.

Neil hid behind his scarf, watching the boys play soccer from the side lines.

Well, he was really only watching one boy.

Todd would run with his cheeks flushed from the contrast of the cold weather and the exercise. And every now and then he would come up to Neil’s side for a water break.

Neil watched, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that Todd was watching him back.

Shy glances, awkward smiles.

Maybe some things were more mutual than both boys realized.

Okay, fine.

Maybe going on a roadtrip with Neil, Meeks and Charlie wasn’t the best idea ever.

Todd accepts his mistake.

Charlie was being his usual obnoxiously loud self, but somehow he managed to know every song on the radio, so he sang the lyrics excitedly, sometimes even dramatically acting them out.

Meeks, on the other hand, was calmer. As the driver, he took the responsibility of not only paying attention to the road, but also making sure Charlie doesn’t get too excited and ends up causing an accident.

Neil was different though.

Him and Todd were both on the backseat, looking out their windows, watching the suburbs turn into mountains, turn into the sea.

Todd would sometimes look at Neil, only to find the other boy already staring at him.

And whenever a song they both knew would come up Neil always excitedly gasped and they sang together, joining their voices with Charlie’s. Sometimes even Meeks’.

So the time passed, with small chatter here and there, the view outside the window passing by and always changing itself.

But the meaningful glances and shy smiles stayed inside, right in those back seats, only for the two boys to share.

imagine charlie dalton taking a liking toward a girl and like going all out his way to get her and she goes 'what makes you think i like you?' and charlie goes 'well im awesome, im beautiful, im a poet' and she goes 'what makes you think i even like boys in the first place' and his jaw just drops because hes like omg shes like todd and neil but if they were girls and from that day on they become friends and they even help each other get girls and he becomes her no1 lesbian protector AND i can see him walk up to a girl sitting at the bar going 'hey uh, are you a lesbian?' and the girl at the bar is like 'uh yes?' and hes like 'AWESOME, my friend over there is too and she thinks youre pretty' like he would be the BEST wingman ever oh my god

really love how pitts and meeks are the nerds and, (in some parts of the fandom) seen as goody-two-shoes only slightly less proper than cameron but if we’re taking the deleted scenes as canon they get demerits on the first day of school and don’t even seem to care? like idk i feel like in some fanfics meeks specifically is shown as a type of person who plays by the rules and cares and about grades and his permanent record and shit but like first time he actually talks in the movie (again, in the deleted scene) he just seems so unbothered by the fact that his school record’s getting fucked b4 the school year’s even properly started
