Rough hands knead into your skin. The tightness of his grasp and the forcefulness of his fingers digging into your skin leaving bruises that will without a doubt be noticeable for days.
Domineering assertions that you belong to him and only he can touch you. If anyone besides him even looks like they’d want to touch you, he’ll lose it.
He takes you to every event, to every party but you MUST stay by his side, or he’ll erratically drag you to his truck, force you into the passenger seat and either fuck you then and there or he’ll drive you home, take you to his room, and punish you at his family’s mansion.
He nearly tears large chunks of hair out of his scalp when his anger climaxes to the point that he’s angrily yelling in your face and punching walls. No matter what the issue is, you get involved in some way or another and often face the brunt of his explosions only to have to pick up the pieces and make him feel better after it’s all over.
There are more nights than you can count where he’s coked out of his mind or going on runs to Barry’s place to beg him for a good fix, promising that he’ll pay him back soon… but if Barry says ANYTHING about you, especially if it’s threatening or suggestive, Rafe will punch the lights out of him and make him see stars.
He’s so uncharacteristically apologetic to you after his outbursts. They happen so often that you become use to it, but he knows that they still always terrify you and what he says to you during those times are things that he doesn’t mean, or he says things that are taken WAY out of context. He knows this and begs you to forgive him and stay with him. It’s so shitty but he’ll go so far as to threaten to kill you and himself both if you ever think about leaving him.
HE CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT YOU.
When things are going good, they are going great but when things aren’t going according to plan, life is a living hell for everyone involved, especially those closest to Rafe… meaning you and his family.
When he’s kicked out of the house, he’ll crash at an empty house that has been left unoccupied while the owners are away on vacation and he’ll ask you to stay with him OR he’ll come and crash at your place. If he has to sweet-talk his way into persuading your parents to let him stay then he will… surely a good bribe will go along way if push comes to shove. If you’re living on your own than that’s even better, Rafe will definitely be coming and staying over.
Rafe tries to keep you out of the situation involving his and Ward’s attempts to keep the gold and steal the cross, but he KNOWS that there’ll be times where you’ll become involved in the situation. He threatens to destroy your families’ livelihood if you go against him and his family. If he even suspects that you’ll help Sarah, Kie, JJ, Pope, or John B, he’ll try and take you somewhere where he can lock you in a room until everything is over.
He denies everything that you ask or confront him about. NO he would NEVER try to drown his own little sister or shoot her. NO, he would never shoot a cop. Trying to murder the pogues by drowning them in the sewers??? How could you dare think that he’d do such a thing?... If he doesn’t deny it then he admits it so dismissively, as though whatever he has done is no big deal, or he tries to manipulate you into believing that he was the victim of the situation and had no choice but to do those things.
If you find out that he has been arrested, he hopes that you’ll help bail him out if his family doesn’t do it before you do. But DON’T expect him to say anything about why he was arrested, you’ll be left in the dark besides whatever the sheriffs tell you.
If/when you get roped into the fight for the gold or the cross, Rafe will make damn sure that you know that you can only help him and his father, NOBODY ELSE. If he has to threaten you over and over again to keep you in check, he will. But he shouldn’t have to because a good partner would support their significant other through thick and thin, right? If not, than surely pointing a gun to your head will keep you from betraying him… he hopes.
He promises you that he’ll give you the world if you just stay out of his way and let him take care of the pogues. Don’t worry about the money, don’t worry about the rumors, don’t think about the crimes being committed, it’ll all be worth it once his family is so filthy fucking rich that he could spoil you a thousands times over, more than he already does.
Sometimes when he’s with you he doesn’t know what to say and won’t say anything but his actions will make it clear that he just wants you by his side to keep him from going crazy or he’ll cuddle up to you, hoping that you’ll hug him and never let him go until he’s feeling better.
You’re the only one who can bring him comfort, the only one who understands and listens to him, please don’t ever betray him… it would break his heart.
If he finds out that you’re helping the pogues, he’ll go ballistic!
