Suggesting it cuz it's real nice and you also said you couldn't really afford fancy soaps. You can find Yardly at the dollar store! And it's still super nice!
My personal thoughts:super soft, smells good,v gets the job done, gentle on sensitive skin
thank you for the suggestion! also passing it along to all my followers looking for good, cheap soap
do you have any recommendations for grapefruit-scented soap, there is a company called The Body Shop that used to make amazing pink grapefruit scented soaps but they have stopped making that scent now. My dad has always been obsessed with that soap (in bar form, it's glycerin-based soap bars, he does not like liquid soaps) but now I have to scour ebay for it when his birthday comes around and it's getting very expensive since it's discontinued. What would be a good substitute to move to?
so I do not have much experience with glycerin soaps, but I know that Zum has a grapefruit bar if he's willing to try a goatmilk soap. it's a little pricy for soap, but Zum makes a pretty good product
however, if you need a glycerin soap, I have on good recommendation that Primal Elements is a great brand. I have a bar that I've been meaning to check out, but I've been using a body wash for the past few months so I haven't had the chance to try it. regardless, Primal Elements does have a grapefruit glycerin soap found here if you want to give it a shot. again, this is kinda expensive for soap, but grapefruit is a specific scent and that might just be a wall you run into
As your skincare guru I recommend Dr. Broner's peppermint soap. You can clean your face, regular skin, hair, and bathtub and toilet with it. Go to Sephora or a high-end department store and ask for one product that can do all that. They'll look at you like you're a crazy person.
games shouldn't cost $70, and they especially shouldn't claim to only be 40 gigs of storage before suddenly becoming 150 gigs right before launch. I did not purchase nor play the 2022 MW2 game, and I will not play it
John "Soap" MacTavish is ineligible for soap review
I think it changes from person to person. some people don't give soap a lot of meaning, and that's fair! Soap is maybe just a normal part of routines, just used to shower quickly or wash hands and then they don't think about soap for the rest of the day. That's what soap was for me for a while
But I've also thought about soap differently. There's a ritual to cleaning, a stronger purpose to it. Washing away dirt and grime can have a distinct psychological benefit, it can really turn around your whole mood
In 2018 I went on a field study that had my camping a lot without access to showers. After the second week, I went to a hotel and finally got to shower and it was such an incredible experience to be able to wipe away all the sweat and filth from a very rainy two weeks. A true mood change.
To me, the power of soap comes in the washing away of things. It represents a new start, a clean slate. It is the tool by which we make a change.
Damn it took me 5 minutes to figure out why you wanted people to like a picture of soap. You did such a good job people think you are just posting random pics of soap.

Review #3 - Dr. Bronner's All-One Hemp Lavender Pure-Castile Bar Soap
I remember hearing about this soap first in a tumblr post years ago about some bizarre soap that could be used in a dozen different ways depending on how you use it. However, I only used it for one purpose: as shower soap.
First things first. This soap has a very unique wrapper, in that the wrapper is covered in text that reads like the ramblings of a madman. The picture I took is not very clear, but I will try and transcribe some of what it says on the top.
"Remember, the only difference between the Brave and the Coward is the Brave has an ideal to fight for, such as teaching the Moral ABC, that at once unites the human race in All-One-God-Faith! As teach Abraham & Israel, inspired by the Messenger of God's Law, the sign of the Messiah, Halley's Comet, the blazing Star of Buddha-Bethlehem-Mohammed! "LISTEN CHILDREN ETERNAL FATHER ETERNALLY ONE!!""
That was verbatim. It's on the soap wrapper. Truly wild. Dr. Bronner and his descendants who carry on the company printed all of this on all of their soap, and honestly? I think that's kinda cool. I think more soap should have lecture notes from their founder.
Anyway, onto the soap itself.
I gotta say, this soap blew me away. It's fantastic. It might be the smoothest bar of soap I've ever used. Despite the amount of oils used, it never left an uncomfortable residue. In fact, it washed away any filth in its way. Not only that but it had an incredible lather to it and a wonderful smell. Let's get into rankings.
Smell: 9/10
I tend to like lavender scented things, and this was no exception. Like with the Zum Bar, it was fairly subtle, but it lasted for a while. It had a strong staying power to it that I really respect in a soap.
Lather: 10/10
Okay so you kinda have to rub it in a little bit more, but once you do, it has such a smooth lather. Dear god, it really gives you your money's worth of lather.
Scrubability/Smoothness: 10/10
I'm combining these categories now because you're really mainly going to have one or the other, rarely will you get both. That said, Dr. Bronner delivers on smoothness. It's like a lotion, I swear. And once you get the lather going with it, it's incredible. No abrasiveness, but if you're getting Dr. Bronner's, you're not looking for abrasiveness. Get a pumice stone to make up for it.
Cleaning power: 9/10
Like I said before, it cleans through whatever you need it to. The oil used really helps break through any built up sweat or skin oils. I think that's intentional, like that's part of why you can use it for so many things. I'm pretty sure you can use this for laundry. It's that good.
Total Average Score: 9.5/10
That's a damn good soap! It very well might be a new favorite.
Closing Thoughts:
Dr. Bronner was a strange, but very passionate man. He knew how to make a good soap. Like with the Zum Bar, it can get a little more expensive at around $5 a bar, but for what you get out of it, it's worth it. Also the bar lasted a long time. Love that in a bar of soap.
Personal Notes
Thanks for reading! I'm sorry it took so long to get another review out, but I've gone to the hospital twice this year already for various bad health things. It sucks, but life is like that sometimes. I'm feeling much better now though, and I thank you all for your patience.

As a doctor, do you have any hygiene tips you think most people could use hearing? Like things people seem to neglect or do wrong that pop up and cause problems? Thanks!
EARS. Earwax is genetically determined. Some people get dry, scant earwax and others get wet, copious earwax. The biggest mistake I see is relying on Q-tips. Every time you stimulate the inside of your ear canal it makes your ears go “oh shit, there’s a threat! I better make more protective wax!” and next thing you know you’ve managed to jam a bunch of wax you told you ears to make back up against your ear drums and you can’t hear as well. Don’t rely on Q-tips. When you’re in the shower, let warm water run in, mush it around by pushing on your tragus (the cartilage flap in front of the canal), and let it drain. Repeat. Blot dry your ears with the edge of a towel or a Kleenex or something afterwards. If you tend to get really stubborn wax, use Debrox drops once or twice a week.
And vaginas. They’re mucus membranes once you get past the labia majora! You wouldn’t soap the inside of your mouth, don’t soap your vagina! It’s a self cleaning oven and if it smells weird GO SEE A MEDICAL PROVIDER because over the counter shit probably isn’t the right answer.
Dandruff isn’t because your scalp is dry. It’s because of a microorganism called malassezia furfur. It eats scalp oils. Dandruff shampoos mostly work pretty well.
Those are the three I can think of off the top of my head. Never use Irish Spring soap! It’s so heavily fragranced it’s a contact dermatitis waiting to happen! I once had a guy develop full body itching and I was JOKING when I said “what, did you just switch to Irish Spring?” and from then until he died he was convinced I was a witch because I was RIGHT.
While visiting my family for the holidays, my dad told me that he had gotten me an Airbnb nearby his apartment. That way, my girlfriend and I wouldn't be sharing the couch with two rambunctious dogs. My girlfriend and I are very grateful for this, as we appreciate having our own space like this.
When we arrived yesterday, I took a look in the bathroom and noticed that the hand soap, the shampoo, the conditioner, and the body wash are all the same brand: Public Goods.
(I'm only including the one picture, because it's all you really need. All the other bottles are basically the same, but instead of saying Hand Soap, they say Shampoo, Conditioner, or Body Wash.)
First things first, I have to admit that the graphic design of the bottle does nothing to endear me to the soap. I'm not a huge fan of minimalist design. I think it's boring. I like clutter. I like when there's a bunch of little stuff on bottles. I think bottle's should have word searches and crosswords goddammit. This bottle has the brand, the type of soap, the volume, the slogan "It's all good", and nothing else. Where's the pizazz? Where's the fun? It's gone.
Hand Soap
Anyway, onto the soap itself. Despite the first impression, the hand soap is actually pretty solid. I don't mean in terms of matter. It is a liquid, don't worry. I mean that it does the job well. It doesn't really lather well, which is disappointing, but it doesn't clump up at all, it spreads easily, and it wipes away grime. It works! A good sign for soap. Not much to say for the smell though. It's pretty inoffensive, subtle, standard soap stuff.
7/10
Shampoo
Not gonna lie. It was pretty disappointing. Felt like I was just using the hand soap on my hair. It didn't lather, which is like the one thing I expect shampoo to do? There's gotta be suds in there, otherwise it's no fun. I even went and grabbed an extra squirt to see if maybe I could rub more in, and all I got was disappointment. Anyway, it's fine otherwise. Smells pretty nice, but again not like anything in particular. That's it. Also it pretty effectively killed my curls, but that's normal for shampoo. It's why I only really shampoo once or twice a week.
5/10
Conditioner
I didn't use the conditioner. I have curly hair and use a specific conditioner for it, recommended to me by my sister who went to beauty school and knows these things. I didn't want to completely kill my curls, so I just used that.
?/10
Body Wash
At first, I was optimistic. It came out of the bottle thick, which is great for a body wash. Smelled nice. Was a different texture than the shampoo and hand soap. Fantastic. Pretty quickly though, I became disappointed. I don't know if it's the brand or if whoever owns the Airbnb did this, but it honest to god seemed whatever down. Just fell right off like sauce off of penne lisce, the worst pasta noodle. I guess I'm clean, so that worked, but it was genuinely disappointing.
4/10 (Again, it might've been the owners who watered down the soap though, so if Public Goods wants to send me fresh bottle, they can DM me and I'll update the review.)
Summary
Public Goods seems to me to be a decent company. They talk a lot about environmentalism and sustainable practices, which I hold to be a very important topic. I hope what they say is true. But what it says on the soap bottles does not seem to be.
"It's all good" the soap bottles say, right near the bottom, in tiny print. I would say it's more like "it's fine" or "it works" because those are technically true.
gonna do something a little different. I'm staying at an Airbnb while visiting family for the holidays and they have a bunch of soap all from the same brand, so I'm gonna do a bulk review
