Toriel was currently holding you tightly in her arms while you cry. You couldn't help but tell her about your old life before falling down here when she came into the room as she heard your cries and noticed your and your soul's behavior turn into a melancholic mood.
She reassures you it'll be alright, "Do not worry, my child." She says while petting your head, "I know you must miss your old life or feel unsafe in such an overwhelming environment since you aren't used to seeing monsters," She holds you closer to her, "But do not fret, I am the caretaker of the ruins and I'll take care of you too!" She gives you a small sympathetic smile. You can't help but feel safer in her arms and her words give promise. You feel yourself hug her tightly and she hugs you back. Her fur is soft, and her clothes are comfortably soft too. The cloth of her sleeves are like white, smooth, velvety blankets covering your back and shoulders as she gently and slowly rocks you. You're sitting on her lap, in her big comfy chair and you feel safe and sound.
With Toriel, you'll always be safe.
She'll make sure of it. As your new mother and your protector. After all...
She knows what's best for you.
