I got the ultimate “pairing” to end all pairings:
Coran adopting Lotor as the second son he never had and in turn giving Lotor the father he always wanted.
Think about it! Coran knew the old Zarkon and Honerva better than anyone on the Castle Ship. He could tell Lotor all the stories of how amazing his parents used to be. He might even have pictures. He could then comfort Lotor because he understands how much it hurts to watch someone he cared about become corrupted.
He also begins to teach Lotor all the Altean history and even the language. Lotor is so happy someone is actually willing to take him under their wing, all thoughts of betraying them disappear. Lance is still Coran’s favorite adopted child but unlike Zarkon, he can care for Lotor just as much.

Can we stop calling it "Black Magic" already?
I have seen a lot of people on tumblr, in the current debate about curses, use the terms “White magic” and “Black magic”. Much of the time people have widely different definitions to what these words mean (making them poor descriptors). Also, unintentionally, you are feeding into the latent racism associated with the terms. QUICK HISTORY TIME
Many people don’t know specifically where the terms ”White magic” and “Black magic” come from and assume that it has something to do with night and day, or darkness and light. Here is what it is really from. When Africans were brought to the american colonies as slaves they would often bring their spiritual practices with them (similar to voodoo or vodun). This was frowned upon in the colonies which were largely christian. The term “Black Magic” was originally a reference to the type of magic done by people who were black and because of the racism of the time Black = Bad we find the current idea of black magic meaning magic that is either bad, evil, or lesser. WHAT IS A BETTER WAY OF PUTTING IT? The whole point of labels is to make something understood and categorized better so what would be a more useful way of differentiating?
1. Attack Magic / Defense Magic
This is one option. It is still a little simplistic but more easy to define. Attack magic is spells done to actively do something, defense magic is to stop something that otherwise would happen. So if you do a spell to get money that would be an attack spell. If you do a spell to prevent yourself from being evicted that would be a defense spell. In this case curses would be a form of attack magic and protection spells would be defense. Again this is not a perfect system because it depends largely on perspective but it does have the nice bonus of not assessing a morality in categorizing spells.
2. Malevolent Magic / Benevolent Magic
In my opinion a slightly better option. This distinction refers to the type of will that is behind the spell. Malevolent arising from intense ill will, spite, or hatred. Benevolent magic comes from kindly, charitable will. So a curse would be an example of malevolent magic, healing would be benevolent magic.
I like this system because it doesn’t assess morality it just categorizes types and also does not leave much room for gray area it simply asks what the will is behind the spell, not if it right or wrong. While it doesn’t leave much room for gray area there could be a situation that i hard to define. Lets say you cure an escaped murderer. The will behind it could be malevolent as a punishment for what he did and also benevolent to help protect people from him.
3. Altruistic Magic / Egotistic Magic
This is my favorite way of categorizing magic. Altruistic magic is done for other people’s benefit. Egotistic magic is done for your benefit. This system does not assign a morality just asks who benefits from the work. Think of it as a simplified “left-handed path”, “right handed path”. If i do a money spell for a friend it is altruistic, if it is for me then it is egotistic. If I put a curse on someone who has wronged me it is egotistic, if it is on someone who poses a danger to other it is altruistic. IN CLOSING
In closing it is up the to pagan/wiccan/witchcraft community here on tumblr to decide how to refer to these things I just think we can do better then outdated and relative terms like “White magic” or “Black magic”. *Also as a side note I am not taking the side that cursing is right or wrong I am just using it above to help explain the different systems. As an initiated Gardnerian I do not perform curses but I don’t begrudge people their personal spiritual practice.
EDIT: http://asksecularwitch.tumblr.com/ brought up a very good point about why it has to be a dichotomy system. It doesn’t have to be, you can come up with a better system that uses 3 or 4 or 6 categories that is fantastic too. I like 2 because it is easy and that is why most people categorize things is to make it easy to understand. The important thing is that there are much better ways then saying “black and white” so lets come together and talk about some of them.
So I went to an art conference at my school. We discussed things there, like how colors can be very powerful and our subconscious picks up the subtlest of hints. Pixar’s UP was a very unforgettable example. The colors of UP had a lot to do with why we cried. You all know what I’m talking about, right??
Ellie’s death.
We were told that her color was pink. That’s why her hospital room had pinkish hue.
And the next scene had strong pink hues. He misses her. I think it’s got strong colors because of her personality.
Also, It’s like her presence is still lingering.
When he got home, only a small part of the frame (window on the right) has a pink hue as the sun is setting. By now, we know her presence is drifting away.
Mr. Fredricksen walks up the porch and goes into his house.
And when he shuts the door, the final frame looks like this:
Ellie is gone.
The entire frame is desaturated and cold because the warmth in Mr. Fredrickson’s life is gone.
And that’s another reason why this masterpiece is heart-wrenching. And that’s how powerful colors are in films.
Thanks, I hate it!
Video Game Idea.
A game that is marketed as your standard fishing game and for the first 20 minutes or so you catch normal fish like bluegill and bass and what have you. But the further you go into the lake you start to catch fish with mutations and it gets more and more intense until you’re pulling in Eldritch horror monsters and sometimes severed human limbs. You realize you don’t recall how you got to this lake in the first place and the objective becomes to find your way back to shore. You have no real weapons but you can throw the creatures you’ve caught far away from the boat as a means to distract whatever is underneath you, bumping into the boat sometimes. Additional items for the game.
A fishing pole with a radar that starts out with just beeps but later includes noises with hidden messages.
A GPS that displays texts and story elements.
You meet other boaters, all from various backgrounds, countries, and time periods. Some are friendly, others want to sacrifice you to the lake monsters.
You can also take the route of sacrificing others to the lake monster.
Or you can assemble a party and work to keep them safe.
The more fucked up looking the fish you catch, the closer you’re getting to a boss fight, which is usually running from something you can only see part of in the water.
????
And that’s my game idea.
More details.
It never stops being a fishing game. You are always fishing and searching for new areas where there is more activity in order to progress the story.
Depending on the choices you make and the amount of mutant fish you consume, you may start to mutate yourself. The fishing pole is part of your arm, you don’t notice it until later. If you consume mostly non-mutated fish and don’t sacrifice to the monsters you can keep the mutations to a minimum.
You can go full mutant and the boat becomes part of your body as well. This makes the monsters pay less attention to you, but you can no longer befriend or trade items with humans. You can still catch human remains and most of them are carrying items.
If you stay mostly human you can work to gather as many surviving humans as you find and assemble a fleet. The possibility of one of them turning on you always stands.
If you’re mutant you gain the ability to capsize yourself and view things under water. This is how you find ultimate monster.
If you’re human you can explore small abandoned docks and islands. These are where you find portals leading to different time periods and countries. You deliver members of your party to these. Only the person who originally belongs there can go through it.
Possible end game situations.
You find the portal leading back to your world, where you wake up on the river bank. You can catch normal fish before going home, making sure they are all free of mutations (they might not be.)
You join the monster, eventually overtaking it. You gain the ability to open time portals near water. You use lures to draw in humans.
I can’t think of anymore endings right now, I may have ruined the game with these new details so feel free to just enjoy the first part.
Terrible concept art. Mini game idea. Compete with members of your party to catch the most fucked up fish. Points awarded based on how many extra body parts it has and if it communicates telepathically with you.
Added my No-Romo posts to this because I feel they are the most important additions. (I am not a writer or game designer or really capable of making anything so this idea is just wishful thinking at best.)
Concept art if it was a more stylized, cute game. You would be able to customize your character and your boat. Sorry this became so big I’m tagging it with it’s working title “Lure” for now. I legit expect nothing at all to come from this, I just like to design and concept out things a bit.
The ultimate ending to the game would be to ignore all plot points and just keep fishing. Meet a person? Tell them you’re not interested in working with them. Feel like you’re getting close to a boss monster? Turn the boat a different direction. Just keep catching and cataloging the fish until you run out of room in your journal. After that the sky opens up and sucks you into it. You wake up exactly where the game started but the first page of your journal now says “YOU DID A REEL GOOD JOB!” And that’s the ending I would shoot for.
More shitty concept art! I’m done now. Anything else pertaining to this will have it’s own post. (I ruined it after the first post, I know I did.)
I had just read your long post about the Boys Love genre. And I just wanted to say that the comic Killing Stalking created by a girl named Koogi kind of firs what you wrote about that post or with what I think. You can search for it yourself if you'd like and give me your own opinion. Killing Stalking is tagged as a thriller and BL (Boys Love) so I honestly wonder what you'd think of it. 🤔
I do know about Killing Stalking. Somehow. I don’t read it, but, I do know some stuff about it:
It’s almost a point-for-point compilation of all my squicks (in case someone doesn’t know, “squick” is analogical to “trigger,” but lowkey, as in, as I’m not mentally ill, I do not get triggered by certain themes in media, but I sure as heckie get squicked by lots of stuff).
There’s a Chilean Facebook page that esque-translates Killing Stalking, but to Chilean spanish, so like, it’s 100% not serious and it makes fun of the comic.
As for the few things that I know about Killing Stalking, there may not be too many problems with the story, if treated with respect.
What I mean by this is if was crystal-clear that the relationship was hecked up and one or both characters were victims of the relationship, then okay, nothing’s wrong.
Because it’s okay to explore the dark sides of the world in media; horror has existed for long and will continue to exist, and some people get a blast from this kind of stories.
But there is a really big problem with Killing Stalking, and that is, its fandom.
Like, I’ve had to actually block people because they kept screaming about how beautiful the main characters’ relationship was, and how they were perfect for each other, while also reblogging hand horror fanarts, forceful feminization of a character and some other stuff that squicks the heck out of me.
Let’s just say, those two days I didn’t have a lot of fun.
The fandom treats Killing Stalking as a romance story when it’s, like…… horror. Based around that relationship. The horror is about the relationship’s dysfunctional dynamics (and this is an understatement).
I don’t know what the author’s opinion on the story is, but, if she was trying to make it seem romantic, then she would, too, be part of the problem.
So, while I’m not going to read Killing Stalking in the near future, I can say for sure that, it proves some of the points I wrote about in my BL post: The genre has its messed up stuff, and one of those is how fandom treats these creepy, terrifying stories.
And also I’m mildly scared because I’m writing negative stuff about Killing Stalking and maybe my inbox will get flooded with anon hate but, eh, alas. Maybe I should tag it as an #anti opinion.
I’m glad you’re being respectful, however,if have to politely disagree with “the fandom romanticizes ks” because in reality most people I’ve met condemn people who ship the characters…to the point of bullying. I really do have to disagree with your generalization of the fandom but..meh.
It’s possible that we have experienced polar opposites of the fandom, because I’m being 100% serious about the “blocking people because they romanticized KS” thing, while you experienced the “stop liking KS it’s horrible and if you like it you’re horrible too” side of it.
I’m sorry for the fandom generalization, because you’re right; there are fans of the series that are A+ okay and they’re just having a fun time with horror stuff they like.
As a clarification for anyone else reading this; this ask was related to a post I wrote about the BL genre being harmful to the gay community, and the anon thought it might fit my descriptions. I cannot give a certain testimony, for I haven’t read it. That’s the whole point of the post. Sorry again for the generalization.

I’m watching Gordon Ramsay videos on youtube, and he’s teaching how to make a burger, and half of the comments are like “Dude what the hell that’s so much seasoning” - “season season season season season” - “that much season? No thanks lol”
I love gringos’ tasteless food culture lol.
I felt the need to draw asanoya Done while I was doing the laundry– I hope no one noticed it while I was drawing this in the hall //coughs

Voltron Theory: Keith and Lotor
So, okay, after my first Voltron theory, my follower count kinda… spiked, to put it somehow. Sorry for not putting out more of those, but I have a new one this time!
Today, I want to bring attention to two cool posts (x) (x) that called my attention and, given those, I think it’s quite evident what I’m going to talk about. Let’s get to it, shall we?
What if, Keith were to abandon and give his back to Voltron, and join Lotor?
Now, disclaimer, disclaimer, this theory is 100% speculative and 0,000001% possible it’ll actually happen, but hey, these are just for fun, so don’t sweat it about Keith actually being a traitor, it’s just something that I imagined (and we all know how my first Voltron theory went). And also, another disclaimer, this is gonna be a theory full of S4 spoilers, so, if you prefer to watch Voltron without those, please save my theory for after you’ve finished watching.
I’ll be leaving all my reasonings under a cut because this is gonna get long.
