Gotham loves the "villain" Pokemon. For example, in other cities, the cop's Pokemon partner usually is Growlithe, but in Gotham, the cop's Pokemon partner is Houndour. Normal citizens also like alola rattata, alola grimer，koffing.
Greninja and Cass: Silent, agile, deadly killer.
Decidueye and the Green Arrow: both skillful archers and look like Robin Hood
Zoroark and the Martian Manhunter：the ability to metamorphase and make illusions.
Armarouge and Wonder Women: A warrior with a strong sense of honor
Rotom and Cyborg: you know, machine.
Palafin and Superman: I've already mentioned it, but I'll mention it again. Hero of the ocean! It will turn into hero mode when it find someone in danger.
Aquaman fits all water type Pokemon（but maybe he can call Kyogre?）, but I think his brother Orm and Empoleon look perfect together.
I apologize if you think I've said too much. I've just been mesmerized by the idea of DC and Pokemon's crossover au for the last few days.
HEY Don’t apologize!!! I love hearing thoughts on the AU, it really helps to bounce ideas around so I can craft an ideal team for the characters in the DCxPokemon AU.
First off, I absolutely agree/intend to have Aquaman call upon/include Kyogre into his party. I think it only seems fitting for a king, right? As for his brother, I absolutely hear you on Empoleon, that’s a very good choice. I played with the idea of him being able to have Lugia in turn, but I’m still not sold on it (yet).
I’m enamored with the thought of Gotham being inhabited by the pokemon you mentioned, I think in terms of it’s usual setting, it works pretty damn well. It gives Unova Castelia City (but more noire/grungy, as we know it). With that said, I also like to include the practicality of pokemon abilities when pairing with partners too, if applicable.
For example, Catwoman! I am having her main partner be a Luxray, due to it’s ability for Xray vision. I think that’s quite a handy ability for our beloved cat burglar, yes? ;)
As for the other JL members and other characters and their potential partners you have mentioned, this gives me a lot to play with. Some I didn’t consider before and a lot of them seem incredibly fitting, (Decidueye and Green Arrow were obvious— how could we NOT partner them up?)
Definitely considering Palafinn and Superman simply for the gimmick, but I also have a couple other mons in his party to honor him as Clark Kent, too. :) I like to try and represent as many sides of the character with as many pokemon that reasonably fit them, if I’m able!
Phew, this gets the brain going, it’s exciting! Per usual, thank you for your thoughts/insights. It makes this AU a lot of fun to explore!
