it is genuinely so unbelievably annoying to be a child trafficking survivor and have to listen to people argue about shadows on the wall when it comes to children’s rights and child abuse prevention. the only true way to prevent child abuse is to take away parental control. give children rights. give them the education, resources, and rights to say yes or no to whatever and whoever they desire. i know what would have helped me. i’m so mind numbingly sick of all of this. everyone wants to feel like a hero, but nobody wants to help anyone.
there is not a pedophile cabal hiding in the shadows waiting to kidnap children. parents are the number one perpetrators of child sexual abuse. my kidnapper was my mother. my traffickers were all paid by her and had legal custody over me. i was forced thru constant manual labor and sexual humiliation in the name of “therapy” because parents are allowed to do whatever they want with the children they own. the end of adult supremacy is the only way to end child abuse.
God. It is really funny how Baldur's Gate 3 does the exact same thing with romance that Fallout 4 does it as described by Noah Caldwell-Gervais (who's come out as trans and nb btw so like. epic win) where it's meant to be as universal an experience as possible, so the party members "becoming attracted" to you amounts to unlocking cutscenes of them admitting that they want to fuck you because you did 10 things they liked or whatever. it wouldnt be as blatant if i didn't get lae'zel coming onto me like 4 hours after i started this playthrough
The Crass and Immature Japanese Visual Novels dont understand romance or love, and just seek to gamify and objectify it. They're not at all like Noble and Progressive Western RPGs where, if you literally just do a few things they like, their Deep, Troubled characters will, unprompted, state outright that they want to fuck you (with 3d private parts and everything). But it's zany and goofy and progressive because you can fuck a bear if you want
Wait really LOL the most progressive RPG ever (because you can put a dick on your girl and have 3d sex with it) but God Forbid you want to fuck more than one person. Sex is basically marriage, especially in DnD 5e
my favorite kinds of lost media are stuff that is only "lost" to the public because some copyright holder sat their fat ass on it for decades and didn't know it was considered lost, and media that we didn't even know existed until someone 20 or 30 years later stumbled into it and put it on the internet. neither are lost media by the strictest definition but they do represent to me the two most interesting ways you could potentially lose media forever
case 1, the media definitely exists but is so wildly inaccessible and basic facts of it so obscure that it's nearly impossible to track down unless the right person contacts the right people at the right time and finally gets permission to redistribute the thing. This one's fairly common for lost media tied to much more famous properties like Saban Sailor Moon
case 2, literally nobody was looking for this piece of media, it might've never been posted about online, it's old, it wasn't popular or even known about beyond a really small group. Someone stumbled into it by complete accident. By some miracle someone cared enough to digitize it. give it a listen.
For thirty years, I had half-complete memories of a cartoon show from my childhood featuring a man with magical shoes that turn him into a superhero, but all I could remember about it was that at one point one of the shoes gets stolen.
It haunted me for literal decades. No one had any idea what this show was, and eventually I gave up hope of ever identifying it.
Then, one day, I happened to stumble onto a YouTube video that used a bit of it for a reference or a joke. I don't even remember what the topic of the video was. But there it was.
The show's called Hammerman. It was a superhero cartoon starring MC Hammer that only lasted one season, and it didn't remain on TV for very long.
Hazel was FUCKING DONE
saludos amigos is a film where white USamericans filter the entire continent through a USamerican lens and latin americans do not get to speak for themselves in the film unless they're cartoon versions of them imagined by USamericans. welcome to the disney 1940s slop era cunt
the samba segment at the end was easily the best one and it's mostly cause it's the only one that seemed to meaningfully engage with its culture. they picked an actual brazillian song from a brazillian artist and got the right instruments to play it. every other instance of latin american music is very blatantly filtered through a western orchestra, like, latin america does not get to present its own cultures on its own terms even a little bit in this film
Google quietly added generative AI capabilities to Google Earth, allowing anyone to generate false images on top of real satellite imagery. It seems pretty rudimentary, but the potential for disinformation is sky-high.
Anyway, did y'all hear that they nuked the White House?
Within the first few hours of its discovery, people on Twitter used this tool to generate an Epstein Island attraction at Disneyland, a mega-prison within Google’s headquarters, and a sequel to 9/11.
Google has already announced that they will be “rolling back” this feature because of screenshots like these:
The fact that they want to bring it back with “guardrails” is ridiculous. Screenshots like these are not the work of some malign actors, they’re instant proof that your idea is terrible on its face
What did they think was going to happen
Task: sweep away the dust in the bedroom [1/4]
picked up "unknown object"
"unknown object" identified as "herokibble crumb"
ate the "herokibble crumb"
gained status effect: Heroic Ambition 30s
Task changed to:
Quest: defeat all the dust in the bedroom [1/5]
ok so write that down
when a cartoon character has a little nutsack or dick visible at all times it might raise some eyebrows but is ultimately seen as funny & acceptable. on the other hand you couldn't make Crazy Frog with a cunt. one of society's great inequalities
lightning round:
Trans women are the exact same gender as cis women.
Trans men are the exact same gender as cis men.
When someone mentions women, it applies to trans women as well, because they are women.
When someone mentions men, it applies to trans men as well, because they are men.
Trans women's attraction is the same as cis women. A lesbian or straight trans woman is the same kind of lesbian or straight as a cis woman.
Trans men's attraction is the same as cis men. A gay or straight trans man is the same kind of gay or straight as a cis man.
A trans woman is a woman in a patriarchal society.
A trans man is a man in a patriarchal society.
I do not want to see my brothers as "lesser" men because it makes you uncomfortable that men are men.
No actually, that trans kid should be allowed to access HRT and I'm tired of you dipshits arguing against human beings not being allowed to access healthcare purely because they're a "small human"
they train the cops in san francisco to treat anyone making less than 8 figures as subhuman and this extends to the awful tsa busybodies. They flagged down my carryon for disposable razor handle and my personal item for a monograph. Thanks for keeping the public safe from knowledge and hygiene, gabagool motherfucker. I know both are each foreign concepts to yank cops but I promise that in other countries, they don't blink twice at my luggage.
I feel like one of the conversational skill failures it’s really easy to fall into is assigning the other person an opinion, rather than asking what their opinion is. This kind of inherently puts them on the back foot, which is uncomfortable, so people don’t like it.
Starting a conversation by informing the other person that you KNOW their feelings, and you are acting based on the feelings you assume they have, without giving them a chance to tell you what feelings they ACTUALLY have… No one likes this!
You may have learned it from your parents doing it to you, in which case I can only imagine you didn’t like it either, but you still internalized it as an acceptable mode of communication because we are always internalizing stuff from our parents even though we don’t like it. It’s kind of a quintessential passive-aggressive parent move: “well, you never want to help me, you don’t appreciate everything I do for you” etc. It puts the addressee in the position of defending themselves and their actual feelings instead of inviting them to SHARE those feelings.
People generally find it easier and more pleasant to converse with you if you go into it with an attitude of curiosity rather than what is essentially a power-play. Assigning your interlocutor an opinion based on your assumptions about their internal experience expresses an unconscious sense that you believe you are and should remain in control of the conversation. But friendly conversations aren’t really supposed to be about control.
You will discover that by them saying so. If they do not wish to share their feelings with you, that’s a different communication problem
