An excerpt from a chapter that is currently being written ✨

“Under Megamind's mesmerized gaze, her delicate white hand slipped into his blue one — strong and roughened by fights and weapons. He touched her lightly, afraid to harm her, and Roxanne, of course, knew why. Despite his apparent vulnerability, his resilient body was so much stronger than any human's that there were moments, like this one, when he had to hold back his strength. Being gentle wasn't something he knew how to do — it was startlingly new to him. But when the girl you love is in your arms, a girl who's determined to hold up the whole world on her own, everything becomes possible for her: the world on your shoulders, and tenderness”.

Episode 3: Roach Hard: With a Vengeance

This episode reveals a part of Megamind's childhood. It made me sad, although it wasn't news that he lived a sad, painful childhood. He faced hardships—not just a lack of love, but also a lack of the bare necessities to live. However, since he was a very creative child, he looked for ways to have fun and a good time with whatever he could find in the prison rubble. His deprivation was so great that he didn't even have a comfortable pillow to sleep on; it makes me think that maybe he did have one, but it was incredibly uncomfortable. It saddens me that no adult took pity on a child. In the Doom Syndicate, our protagonist mentions that he has a phobia of cockroaches, and this is where the episode broadens our perspective on that phobia. It all happens when Chum accidentally sprays intelligence aerosol on a cockroach, and it becomes a genius that wants to take over the world and can even talk. This forces Megamind to face his phobia of cockroaches. As always, I won't share more details of the episode so that more people can tell us about their favorite scene. In the end, Chum and Keiko learn to work as a team to get rid of the cockroaches, and Megamind, despite his phobia, has to do his part to defeat them.

💙There are many favorite moments in this episode; learning about Megamind's childhood was one of them.

💙Another one was when Megamind gathered his courage and pushed the leader cockroach to activate the final weapon. In that same scene, he calls himself a "man," and I have always loved that since the movie and throughout the series, he and almost all the characters recognize him as a "man" and not as an alien. To me, he is a man, and I love him!

💙Another favorite moment—and it just kills me and makes me sigh for him—is the final scenes with his gorgeous, sexy, smug face. I couldn't get the screenshot, but if anyone has it, please share it!! I need it.

From the very beginning it's clear that Megamind and Roxanne have interpersonal chemistry. But what could make their connection even more cosmic, even fateful? Their names ^^

According to my headcanon Megamind's parents named him after the star Atlaim, which was the "morning star" on their planet. It is the brightest star, often visible before dawn (Atlaim is as stubborn as our alien and doesn't leave the sky until the last moment). At the same time Roxanne's name is translated from Persian as “dawn”, “bright” or “shining”.

Это самая яркая звезда, часто видимая перед рассветом (Атлаим так же упряма, как наш пришелец, и не уходит с неба до последнего момента). В то же время имя Роксаны с персидского переводится как "рассвет", "светлая" или "сияющая".

What a beautiful interpretation of their names, and knowing how much they love each other, it blows my mind. If the creators of Megamind ever reveal his real name, I would love for it to be Atlaim.

A little more from my headcanon. Megamind said he was eight days old when his planet died, he had a good memory, he could sit up, and he had grown teeth. But that's too rapid a development for a child. What if he didn't mean eight Earth days, but months on his planet, which sound similar to Earth "days"? Because of his tongue-tiedness, Megamind confused "day" with "dayn" on their planet (like "school"). 8 dayns are approximately equal to 4-5 Earth months. Children on Megamind's planet develop faster than those on Earth, but not by much.

Но это слишком стремительное развитие для ребенка. А что, если он имел в виду не восемь земных дней, а месяцы на его планете, которые созвучны с земными "днями"? Из-за своего косноязычая Мегамозг спутал "день" с "дейн" на их планете (как "школу"). 8 дейнов примерно равны 4-5 земным месяцам. Дети на планете Мегамозга развиваются быстрее земных, но не слишком.
