It kinda seems like every now and then people come up with some bs reason to hate on MCU movies
Civil War: "It's not like the comic so it's not good"
Doctor Strange: "It didn't cast an Asian actor so it's not good"
GotG Vol 2: "It's too childish so it's not good"
Homecoming: "It's not Tobey so it's not good"
Ragnarok: "It has too much humor so it's not good"
In 2018, none of that happened yet
Huh, strange
Either way, phase 3 didn't have a single bad movie, WE'RE BLESSED
Thanos was the "CGI" star of IW but oh shit Ebony Maw was also freaking great Look how detailed his face is
Ben Reilly aka that dude from Avatar
"WHY IS GAMORA????"
STRANGE'S REACTION IS PRICELESS
Maybe you just need someone watching your back, like a partner.
Ant-Man And The Wap (2018) dir. Peyton Reed
Who remembers when those Marvel/Sony emails leaked and that was posted on twitter lmao
This is all I can think of when somebody says something like "IF VENOM WON'T HAVE MUCH SCREENTIME IN THE MOVIE, THE MOVIE SHOULD BE CALLED "EDDIE BROCK" THEN!!"
DC Universe Streaming Service Titles.
Extremely hyped for Swamp Thing and YJ but I really don't see a point in making Harley Quinn
Let's talk about the Infinity War ending (Spoilers)
Alright, so, I can't really show many pictures of IW, but I can post at least one, and one's good enough.
So Thanos acquires all the Infinity Stones and get brutally beaten by Thor. But before Thor's actually able to put an end to the "villain", the Mad Titan snaps his fingers and then teleports to a place we're not entirely sure where or what it is, leaving the God of Thunder in shock behind. That moment, literally, almost everybody starts to disappear (turn to ash), including very important heroes of the MCU. And as the universe gets balanced with the annihilation of half it's population, we see... Thanos. In a different planet. A beautiful planet, in fact... And in the very final shot, we get this:
Well, there he is. Looking at the sunset, vaguely smiling and admiring the place around him.
Y'know what that means?
Thanos spent the entire movie collecting the stones. Destroying places, killing people, including people he didn't necessarily wanted to kill.
Even when he got all the stones, he almost got killed once again. In fact, he almost got killed countless times on and off screen. We've seen in that flashback of Gamora's past he conquered entire planets, conquered people. So many wars he had to fight, so many people who hurt him and he had to hurt, and maybe most importantly, so many losses over the years. All of that happened simply because he wanted to do what he thought was right, we may not necessarily agree with what he's done, but we comprehend exactly the reasons for that.
That smile while looking at the sun, it's not exactly happiness or satisfaction... It's peace. After so many years of battles and losses, he finally achieved his ultimate goal. He genuinely believes he may have saved the universe, we don't know yet, probably didn't, but temporarily it's 50 - 50. The universe may have been saved or may have been turned into complete chaos just like what happened to Earth, as we've seen in the post credits scene.
But the point is, he finally achieved his goal after everything that happened, and now, for once in a lifetime, he can rest... There are no wars to be fought, no people to kill, no planets to conquer, no universe to save. Which means, Thanos finally be able to have some peace and quiet.
It's even announced "Thanos will return".
And that's the beauty of Avengers: Infinity War. Turns out, the villain of the story, the enemy, the guy who apparently wants to do bad stuff, was in fact, the hero, at least esthetically speaking. The person we all thought was supposed to be the antagonist, ends up being the protagonist, in a very peculiar way, but still
Avengers: Infinity War is not a movie about the Avengers doing whatever they can to stop Thanos from getting the stones. It's a movie about Thanos facing his obstacles to simply acquire the stones.
It's not just Avengers: Infinity War.
It's more like "Thanos: The Quest for Power".
And that's exactly why Thanos is by far the best character in the movie.

I really loved the fact that the Black Order was the dark reflection of the most fundamental Avengers members... Corvus and Proxima were sent after the Mind Stone. Curiously, that stone was in the possession of Vision, currently in a relationship with the Scarlet Witch. So there you already have two couples fighting against each other. Both Vision and Wanda had a big evolution as characters since the last time we saw them in Civil War. They're more aware of their capabilities and what exactly they can do but they're also not entirely sure of what is the true extension of their powers. So in one hand you have a couple of extremely strong beings who still don't know exactly what they can actually do fighting against another couple that's not as strong or powerful as them, but know exactly their limits/abilities and are also very skilled. Then you have Ebony Maw and Doctor Strange. Two guys with very peculiar and unique powers when compared to the others, they pretty much had the potential to become even stronger than their teammates but I guess that for some reason, they aren't very strong, at least PHYSICALLY speaking. But here's the interesting part... In his solo movie, we saw Strange confront the Ancient One, his master, about the fact he was doing something wrong and questionable. Ebony Maw, never questioned or confronted Thanos about anything his master planned to do, no matter how dark and brutal it seemed like, he was more of a slave to Thanos when you think about it, especially when you listen to his opening speech. So when you compare Maw and Strange you have these "sorcerers" (Maw is not exactly a sorcerer but still) but the difference is, one actually realized his master was wrong and the other simply didn't. Maw is exactly what Strange could become if he hadn't confronted the Ancient One: A person blindly following his superior's order without any sense of judgement. Cull Obsidian (Black Dwarf) is pretty much Hulk. The difference is... Hulk as an actual "smart" and comprehensive side, and that is Bruce Banner. You don't want to see Hulk get hunted down by the army or anything else because you know that inside that big green monster, there is an actual intelligent man. And you do know Hulk really doesn't want to hurt random people or that type of stuff. That's empathy. Cull Obsidian doesn't have a smart or rational side or doesn't want to hurt people, because he wants to. That completely gets rid of the empathetic element from the character. For instance, Cull Obsidian is Hulk without the empathy. Last but not least, Thanos and Iron Man. "We were both cursed with knowledge" That already says a lot. Both futurists who predicted threats and the destruction of their homeworlds and found very odd ways to try to save these worlds, maybe the project of creating an artificial intelligence who tried to wipe out humanity or wanting to kill half of the population. Same goal: Save the universe. But total different ways of achieving that goal... Oh, and at least until The Dark World, Loki was already a deconstruction of Thor, sooo... There's that.
An honest opinion on the "Trans Spider-Man" headcanon
Alright, so, I was kinda reluctant to make this post, I really didn't know if I should do this, but I realized that I just needed to talk about this and stop thinking about it once and for all
Spider-Man: Homecoming is a pretty cool movie, right? It introduces the mythology of Spider-Man in the MCU and pretty much gives the audience a brand new character with a brand new point of view and perspective on the world full of superheroes around him
I think it's safe to say most people did enjoy this movie... Until, y'know, theories and headcanons started to appear and stuff, ESPECIALLY here on Tumblr. I saw the trans Peter headcanon last year, but for some reason I only decided to actually see what it was all about this January. I read a lot of things about it and I thought "Yeah, OK, kinda makes sense, it's an unique way to look at the Spider-Man character, but definitely not gonna officially happen"
The fact the headcanon was so big and popular really didn't mean anything, but... Obviously, there will always be people questioning and making questions about that type of thing, and not in an offensive way. And the problem is... I've seen a lot of the supporters of the headcanon actually offend or call out the other people for some reason, like, "YOU'RE TRANSPHOBIC!!!" or "YOU'RE JUST MAD THE CHARACTER IS IN FACT TRANS"
But here's the thing... I think most Spider-Man fans do remember that comic run in approximately 2001 when it was revealed that Peter was in fact more of a mystical character, had magical connections, spiritual meaning of his powers and similar stuff. It caused a lot of controversy simply because for 40 years or so, people believed Spider-Man to be a certain character with a certain mythology and certain characteristics and then suddenly, everything was changed. EVERYTHING. The entire history of the character was drastically altered in a matter of 1 comic book or so, literally. Many fans still hate that run and deny it's existence because of that. Same thing applies to when we found out Gwen Stacy had children with Norman freaking Osborn. That drastically changed the history and perspective not just of Spider-Man but also Gwen and Norman themselves, and that comic is also severely hated and ignored by most people
Those cases are no different than trans Spider-Man. We believed the character was one way during all of our lives and then somebody with convincing arguments shows up and says he may not be exactly what we all thought. THAT also drastically changes Spider-Man as a whole...
And that's exactly why people feel the need of asking questions about it. Because EVERYTHING was altered... Things must be specified.
This trans Peter headcanon was definitely a subject that made me think a lot in the last few months or so. Because I've been reading Spider-Man comics, watching the TV shows and movies for decades and then something indicating that the character I so much loved was entirely different showed up. In the same way Clone Saga showed up, Sins Past showed up, Coming Home showed up, The Other showed up
It's not a matter of being transphobic or anything like that. It's simply a matter of wanting to know better the character itself
That said, obviously, there are people genuinely transphobic that... Y'know...
But I'm not talking about those assholes, I'm talking about not just the actual and true fans of the character but also decent people who accept and support the way others are, no matter what it is
If Spider-Man is trans or not, if Marvel will consider doing it or no, if the headcanon will still be supported in upcoming years or no, that's a different matter
But Spider-Man is Spider-Man. PETER PARKER is PETER PARKER. Trans or not, mystical or not, clone or not I still like the character, no matter what
All I'm saying is... Don't be rude, try to offend or presume the way people who question the headcanon are, because I'm pretty sure most are definitely not transphobic or homophobic or anything like that
I don't think seeing a post like this will make people who support the headcanon too happy. In fact, I don't even know if people will see this post at all, it may get 1 like, 0 likes, I really have no idea how will this turn out
And a week ago, I wouldn't have done this post. But a person here I truly admire said "Don't do it for the others, for the likes or for the popularity. Do it for yourself"
And that's exactly what I'm doing...
*sips tea*
This never gets old
Y'know, I started this blog all like "Holy shit man, I'm going to make countless and very intelligent comics and movies essays and analysis, get 65808325 likes per post 6447993 reblogs and 13479007338 followers" Today: 5 followers. Only shitpost Lmao why
Wow what a dumb character who can't take things seriously and takes everything as a joke, without any complexity or dramatic moments
