Hey so I broke both of my feet

Last night I fell down the stairs in my house and fractured the metatarsals in both feet. I have one fracture in my right foot and three in my left, plus damage to a ligament. I'm currently waiting to find out if they need to operate on my right foot (which would happen tomorrow morning) but I wi...

Late last sunday night I missed the last step going down my bedroom stairs (like the genius I am) and ended up breaking both of my feet. I have three fractures and a damaged ligament in my left food which will require surgery and one fracture in my right foot which they would normally operate on as well, but are trying not to to avoid me being completely nonweight-bearing. Right now I have extremely limited mobility and can really only hop around for a few minutes with a walker. My house has too many steps so I’m being sent to a rehab facility until I can walk well enough to be able to enter my own home.

I will be having surgery on one of both feet in about 3 weeks and will need around 8 weeks of recover. That’s 11 weeks that I cannot work. I’m a recent college graduate and only just started a job that is just enough to cover my bills. I have some money saved up but I was not prepared for over two months without any income. This is already a really upsetting and scary experience to be going through, and the added financial uncertainty is making this all the more difficult. Even when I go back to work I don’t know how much I’ll be able to do or how many hours I’ll get. I really need help right now. Any donations are greatly appreciated, even if it’s just a few dollars. I’ve set the goal to cover two months rent/utilities plus some basic living expenses. Any extra money will go to medical expenses. I’m being discharged from the hospital today! My insurance wouldn’t cover a sub-acute rehab facility but my doctors said I don’t really need to be in one anyway, so I get to go home. I still have a long recovery ahead of me but things are looking up. Please keep reblogging and donating if you can, we’re doing great so far! I’ve already gotten nearly enough for another month’s rent

I’ve been doing pretty well at home! A friend gave me a knee scooter so I can get around a lot more easily and have a bit more independence, but I’m still pretty much housebound for the next several weeks. I’ve gotten a few more donations but they’ve slowed down quite a bit. Right now I have enough to almost cover next month’s rent but I still need a lot of help, especially when my medical bills start coming in. Please keep sharing this and donate if you can!
