I was really hoping I wouldn’t have to make one of these posts. But if Andy Blake really is intent on trying to worm his way into Critical Role fandom I will do everything in my power to stop him. I am not involved in the wank in any way, except as a horrified bystander.

The Epic article linked in the previously reblogged post gives a broad outline of what Blake has done. That should be enough to make people wary, but if you really want an insider view of the whole horrific cult situation, you can take a look at some of kumquatwriter’s (known as Orangeblossom at the time) posts here. The Willamette Week, Portland’s alt-weekly, also did a pretty in-depth article about the whole Tentmoot disaster.

I haven’t really kept up on Blake’s shenanigans since LotR, but I did hear he was trying to get into Teen Wolf, then Supernatural fandom (linking to my own Tumblr because the post has now been deleted) and then MCU fandom saying he was channeling the spirit of Bucky Barnes or wev. 

The Tea Blog has an incredibly extensive timeline of all of Andy’s activity in fandom: Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Part 6 is forthcoming. 

I hope this is enough to convince you that nobody, least of all anybody in Critical Role fandom, should go anywhere near this guy. He is bad news and has destroyed a lot of people’s lives. Be careful, and listen to your gut.

The first chart shows that, since the 1970’s, the frequency of workers striking has declined considerably across a number of countries, especially the UK and the US.

The second shows that, starting in the late 1970’s, average wages in the US stopped growing even though worker productivity continued to grow (a trend that has continued to this day).

The implication is that the weakening of power and action on the part of labor unions in the 1970’s and 1980’s contributed to stagnating wages in the United States, as the benefits of productivity gains began going to employers instead of workers.

So, I learned today that “Baptists and Bootleggers” is shorthand/slang for diametrically-opposed groups supporting the same thing for their own reasons. (Evangelical groups wanted to ban Sunday liquor sales for moral reasons, bootleggers wanted a bigger market.)

But all I could think was that “Baptists and Bootleggers” sounds like a fantastic RPG set in 1920s New Orleans.

I saw a news report about this on T.V., she was a straight A Student who had perfect attendance and everything. Everyone loved and respected her for her skills, but when she started this experiment and people thought she was pregnant, they started treating her like garbage. Even her teachers started looking down on her like she was scum of the earth. The only people who knew she was doing this as an experiment were her school principal, her health care teacher, her boyfriend, and her mother. Her own siblings thought she was pregnant! I mean even her friends turned on her, it was horrid. Very very sad, and as soon as she revealed during an assembly that the pregnancy was false, a lot of people were in shock as she brought up all the horrible things they said and did to her because they thought she was pregnant. The reason for the experiment was to see how people would react and treat her if they thought she was pregnant, as opposed as to treating her as the straight A “Perfect” student they usually did. And it proved that people were horrible scumbags to her as soon as they thought she was.

I groom one of these guys every week and he’s quite possibly the love of my life. We play a game called “brush, brush, kiss” because as long as I say “brushbrushbrushbrushbrush” he’ll stand nicely, but the second he gets impatient or I need a break I say “KISS” and he explodes into a ball of joy and kisses my entire face and anywhere else he can reach. Been looking at this for a while, and something about it seemed off.  Something else is going on here, behind the scenes.  And it hit me.

Look at where the floor is.  Her legs, in order to reach it, must be Liefeldian in length!  And then the obvious solution presented itself.

Far be it from me to argue with someone with nineteen years and counting of artistic experience, but that is exactly what I’m going to do, right now! Watch me! 

Yes, examination of that background and the marks on the floor of the shed lead me to the conclusion that there’s a great big hill of sand for her to be standing on. Thus obviously the reason he’s crying is that he’s just finished sweeping and now she’s letting all the sand in. As someone who spent many years at a summer camp with a sandy bank by the lake, and who was often made to sweep his own bunk, I can assure you that this is an unforgivable offense. Sand is the worst and there is always more of it.
