Gale’s camp tunic is DONE!! Just under 200 (196) hours of hand embroidery on this piece and I’m so proud of how it turned out.

All that’s left is to finish the detail stitching on the trousers, so I can say with fair confidence that I’ll be bringing this along to Katsucon in Feb 👍 After over a year of working on this cosplay, the end is truly in sight!

Dammon is a tiefling blacksmith and trader who fled Elturel with a group of tiefling refugees.

Orin the Red is the Chosen of ⁠Bhaal and one of the leaders of the enigmatic Cult of the Absolute, and serves as one of the main antagonists.

"the first time she showed up in disguise i was like “oh cool, a normal npc interaction” and then it’s orin. of course it’s orin. it’s ALWAYS orin"

"orin is what happens when you give a murder cult a theatre kid with authority and nobody tells her to stop, because EVERYTHING she does is a performance, she’s not just killing people she’s curating it, she’s leaving little calling cards and doing outfits and making sure you know she’s having fun, and then you finally get to the temple and she’s up there on the altar like it’s opening night, and i’m sorry the slayer form reveal is still one of the most “oh we’re in a HORROR game suddenly” moments bg3 pulls. also if you’re durge and it turns into that whole bhaal vs bhaal family drama duel situation?? ridiculous, mean, iconic. i hate her. i’m obsessed with her. i want to throw her into the abyss and also congratulate her on committing to a bit this hard"

"Playing durge made me understand that Orin would had been us if we never got our memory erased by her. She tried to destroy durge and give them another chance to be something else more than a bhaalspawn. But she never got that chance. The one moment you can make her hesitate and doubt Bhaal, he forcefully turns her into the slayer to fight you."

Background

Like all Silent Sisters, she cut out her tongue to emulate the Paragon Astyth the Grey, and so cannot speak. Her trainer Farinden speaks for her.

Involvement

Like the rest of her order, she supports Prince Bhelen Aeducan’s candidacy to the throne and thus fights on behalf of him in the Provings.

i keep thinking about Her... what if. tabris was never recruited by duncan. so she gets put in fort drakon and about to be executed. however, several hundred years ago, in the fall of the dales, an ancient tabris ancestor had saved felassan's life in battle or something. and felassan gave them that fen'harel dagger afterwards as a memento. and since then, felassan had periodically checked in on the family line since he owes them a favour, even if they don't remember anymore.

and felassan was passing through the area already, on his way to do guard duty on solas' coffin to defend it from darkspawn during the blight. and he respects tabris' Moxie and Murderous Abilities, and decides to be chaotic and break her out while in denerim. wow it's so crazy how she just vanished out of her jail cell with the guards not even seeing anything <3 who knows how that happened <3

i just think unrecruited tabris should get to become some sort of freelance menace to society. she could be red jenny. not like a straw anarchist prankster one, more of a "leave a severed pig's head in a noble's house as a Gentle Warning before they're murdered gruesomely three days later" type of vibe.

“Hawke is my favorite protagonist because they feels so deeply embedded in the world around them. They have stakes, they have relationships, they have a strong sense of personality. These are things we lose out on when there is a self-insert protag. I love that despite enduring near constant grief and pain, they continue to do their best to protect the people around them and to make their home a safe place for their loved ones. Do they fuck up? Often. But they does the best they can with what they have, which is all any of us can try to do. I also love that they're such a massive himbo/herbo/thembo”

Round 1 — Match 42 / 77 — Astarion Ancunin vs. Lakrissa

Astarion Ancunín is an Origin Character and recruitable Companion who can be romanced by characters of any gender. He is a high elven Rogue with the Charlatan background. Astarion can be first found west of the Nautiloid Wreck during Act One. A vampire spawn previously under the control of  Cazador Szarr until being abducted by the nautiloid, Astarion is set on exacting revenge upon Cazador and becoming free, no matter the consequences.

"astarion is the character i did not expect to get attached to and then it happened anyway, because he’s such a mess and he KNOWS it. He’ll flirt, he’ll lie, he’ll posture, he’ll act like nothing touches him, and then you get these moments where the mask slips and it’s like… oh. and the best part is you can actually influence what kind of freedom he chooses. you can enable the whole “power will fix me” plan, or you can push him toward something that looks more like healing (even if it’s ugly and slow and he fights it). Also: the fact he genuinely enjoys being mean is hilarious. he’s a hater. he’s a gossip. he’s the friend who would absolutely egg you on to make the worst decision at a party. and then when you hit the cazador stuff the game stops being cute about it. it’s grim. it’s personal. it’s about bodies and consent and ownership and what you do after you get out. and he’s still standing there trying to decide who he wants to be next. i don’t care how you play him, i just think he’s one of the most memorable companions they’ve ever written."

Round 1 — Match 10 / 77 — Cazador Szarr vs. Wyll Ravengard

Cazador Szarr is a vampire and Astarion's's former master. He is the primary antagonist of Astarion's personal quest, The Pale Elf.

"Cazador is a fantastic antagonist because he’s small-scale evil with world-class consequences. Not “end of the world,” just “end of your world,” times seven thousand."

Wyll Ravengard is an Origin Character and a recruitable Companion who can be romanced by characters of any gender. He is a Human and a Fiend Warlock with the Folk Hero background. Wyll can be first found in the Emerald Grove (or at camp if  Karlach was recruited before him) during Act One. Known as the "Blade of Frontiers" across the marches of Baldur's Gate, Wyll is a valiant hero who fights injustice and hunts monsters wherever they may hide. Though forever bound to his infernal patron  Mizora, he has dedicated his whole life to protecting the city he loves.
