There is NO better feeling than hanging my art! Especially when you spend weeks crafting kites and layering paper, it’s like delivering a damn baby! 👩🏾🎨🖌
As much as people commend me for my confidence, I still struggle with embracing my tummy and big arms. I realized the insecurity stems from lack of representation. There are so many beautiful plus size models but they still have slim arms and flat tummies. What about the rest of us? I have tummy rolls front and back and big, fat arms. A lot of girls do but we’re too shy to embrace them. I’m still working on it but here’s a photo to start.

“My Fitbit says I’m dead.”
There have been moments in my life where I like, didn’t think that I would ever get to have that. You know? Because of what I looked like or because there’s like a certain way that your body is supposed to be, and I’m not that. And that maybe if I was just sweet enough and nice enough and easy-going enough with any guy, that that would be enough for someone.

“The most dangerous thing a woman can possess is self-worth. Liking her own body, trusting her own instincts, valuing her own time and company, thinking she’s interesting and special, entering business and personal relationships based only on mutual benefit and respect. Sometimes this leads to advertisers having no idea how to corner us. If we don’t hate ourselves, how will we know what to buy? Sometimes self-worth leads to violence against us. Sometimes, though, self-worth sets us free.”
— Margaret Lyons, The Find Yourself Beauty of Shrill
Shrill premieres March 15 on Hulu!
Watched all 6 episodes of Hulu’s Shrill, staring SNL’s Aidy Bryant.
The show is soooooooo good and gives me so many feels. Fat girl living her life, trying to love herself the way she is. I also love that it was filmed in Portland.
The only thing I dislike? Therre should be more then 6 episodes.
Aidy Bryant in a bra and panties is everything I dreamed of.
“He implied that I need to be less fat to do good work. God, and it’s like, isn’t it already bad enough that he is constantly writing about the obesity epidemic like it’s this abstract, far away thing? When it’s, like, that’s me. You know? Like, I’m the obesity epidemic, and you know me. You know I was like, at that event today, and there were so many people just like, living in their bodies and enjoying their their life, and that shit was un-fuckin’-believable to me. And also, it’s like,”Ok, cool, man. Really fuckin’ cool. Very original point. No shit.” You don’t think the whole world isn’t constantly telling me that I’m a fat piece of shit who doesn’t try hard? Every fucking magazine, and commercial, and weird, targeted ads telling me to freeze my fat off or to drink a tea so that I’ll shit my brain out my ass? And at this point, I could be a licensed fucking nutritionist, because I’ve literally been training for it since the fourth grade, which is that fist time that my mom said that I should of just eat a bowl of Special K and not the dinner that she made for everyone else; so that I might be a little bit smaller, and so that she could fucking— I could have boys like me. I honestly, I don’t even blame her. Because it’s a fucking mind prison, you know? That every fucking woman everywhere has been programmed to believe. And I’ve wasted so much time and energy and money, for what? For what?! You know? I’m fat! I’m fucking fat! You know?” Annie, Shrill on Hulu
